  1. Thanks Paul - that was what I meant I have seen the fishing forecast which is what prompted me to ask . You have enlightened me on the fact that air pressure is a factor - I know that cold water temperature is a factor also in that fish tend to not feed below about -4 [ i think ] I thought that a bit of precipitation helped fishing - but not sure about wind direction .

I was just curious as to what parameters were used in the process?

  2. my previous topic didn't receive any responses, perhaps I didn't word it correctly.

I have a weather station and I see that there is a fishing indicator , which says 'good' bad' ' ok' etc. my question is how does the author come to the conclusion of what constitutes a good fishing day and a bad fishing day and can I utilise that from my weather station ?

    :D

  3. I have purchased the Watson W8681 weather station from Maplins - which covers air temperature, wind speed , direction etc . On your site you also cover the weather from a fishing aspect.

If possible can someone just expand a little on what I should be looking for in my weather station to try and understand the signs so at least I may have a little knowledge of what is considered a good , or bad day for fishing.

    Many thanks

  4. I have managed to find out the manufacturer and they have replied that it is midnight to midnight. Also sorted out the rain meter - it was my fault, I had it on 'total' rainfall rather than "24hrs".

The software that comes with it - which I haven't loaded yet is "easyweather" not sure whether this is Ok or not ?

    Regards

  5. Apologies if this sounds a daft question , but I have a Watson W-8681 wireless weather station, purchased from Maplins.

For my simple needs I am quite happy, it seems to be recording things fairly accurately, but can anyone tell me when the "Day" starts for the purposes of the records , is it from midnight to midnight or 6am - 6am ? Just curious !! :)
