I have just had an awful drive home from work, all the roads including main roads (including A127) are thick with snow, did not drive out of 3rd gear and above 20mph all the way home no roads been gritted at all, the snow was hitting the windscreen really fast, we all had a cardboard box cut up to use to clear our cars, a good inch at least has settled here cannot see the grass and its still coming down in huge flakes.

The A127 is very nasty at the moment. My drive from Bas to Rayleigh was scary. Not looking forward to driving back to bas tomorrow morning.

Just driven home from Basildon to Rayleigh. The A127 was very nasty, covered in snow with no sign of gritting. Visibility was awful with the snow chucking it down in my headlights.

Falling very heavily in Rayleigh now, can barely see the hills at the end of my road.

I remeber one particular 80's winter in Leigh. Hoge amounts of snow, icicles the sive of a teenager hanging precariously from the gutters, but still Belfairs School remained open.

So what about 2005/2003/1996/1991/1987

We got clobbered from Similar Set-Ups and received nearly 5 times the amounts of other parts of the South East in this Set-Up

I must have a selective memory then. Kent always seems to get a pasting when we don't. I clearly remember 87 - Had to do my paper round in it! So what is the deal with a Thames streamer, I'm intruiged.

I'm surprised if there is nothing in Leigh as there is a good dusting in Rayleigh, and it shows no sign of melting.

Can someone explain how this Thames streamer is supposed to work? I've lived in Leigh for most of my 37 years, and we normally seem to miss the snow when others get a pasting.

We had a nice little shower in rayleigh about half an hour ago, but it didn't settle. Next-door's pond has frozen though, and is was fluid this morning, so it's definately getting colder.

This proves my Point It CANNOT Be Easterly where I am, Basildon is Exactly Due East by 10 Miles from Me and I watched that Heavy Shower just to my North, I can now see Blacknes to my due West and Armageddon to my South East So this is definately NE From my location which makes all the difference and has a massive knock on effect if you want the Thames Streamer for areas further down the Line.

Surely Basildon is 10 miles west of Leigh, unless I'm really confused.
