Just up the hill in Bushey and I concur. It's windy and wet but no different to what we experienced this afternoon. Not much happening here apart from the odd 30mph gust, but driving along the M1 at 10pm was quite windy, the spray from the trucks was being blown a lot further back than usual!

Heavy rain and strong winds all day here in Watford, picked up a bit in the last hour but I wouldn't say it's as bad as others are experiencing elsewhere. Gusts are quite strong but we've had worse here in the last couple of months.

Snowing in Bushey and starting to settle. First time on here since this morning so a little surprised after seeing the forecasts change today. Can we expect some significant(ish) snowfall for this part of Hertfordshire tonight then?

I would agree that Ruislip has been horrendous, it has been gridlocked from 11am this morning onwards. We have also done Ruislip to Bushey in 15 mins and Ruislip to Borehamwood in 20 mins. This is quite achievable especially at 6am in the morning. My husband is trying to get to Chorleywood and is stuck somewhere near Moor Park. Roads gridlocked now. Mainly due to automatic Mercedes which seem the worse in snow, and drivers trying to drive in 1st gear rather than the highest gear possible. Will be interesting to see if the gritters get to work or not.
Batchworth Lane is horrendous. That's where I had the biggest delay and where cars were sliding.
I drive regularly from Bushey Arches to Ruislip Manor and can do it in 20 mins with no traffic. Don't think it's ever taken me longer than 30.
As for the state of the roads this morning, they bear no resemblance to the roads this evening. It is ice that is the problem, not snow. Even outside our road in Bushey, we have queues of cars struggling up Chalk Hill due to the icy conditions.

Just taken me over 2 hours to drive from Ruislip in Middx to Bushey in Hertfordshire, a journey that usually takes 20 mins. The driving conditions are horrendous, ice everywhere. My 4x4 struggled at 5mph going downhill. Cars abandoned at the side of the road, cars sliding sideways etc. Snow has stopped at the moment, but only after over 3 hours. More on the way for us in this area?

Been snowing here in Bushey now for the past 2 hours. Snow is quite heavy and fine, but settling on cars and pavement.

You could not make this Up, New warnings out for London and the South East...............Including KENT!
Heavy Snow Mon 9 Feb
There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting parts of southern England on Monday. A band of rain will turn to sleet and snow in places as it moves eastwards. There is the potential for around 5cm of accumulating snow in places, locally 10 cm.
Issued at: 1200 Fri 6 Feb
Looks like the stuff to our South West is pivoting North Westwards to me
Well I'm in the South East and it's been snowing here all morning. Still snowing now.
