I wouldn't fancy driving towards Eastbourne in a double decker. I hope you're on a route that stays fairly sheltered.
Brighton marina, so pretty exposed

Just typical that my towns summer events start this weekend, and it’s not looking great. Hopefully there will be some more good days to enjoy in august.

Even if we didn't get a direct hit, Brighton is still a good place as we'll still be able to see the lightning and hear the thunder
Very true. Just head to the beach, we have a great view out to sea and of Brighton.

wow, I'm literally just to the right of the line, on the coast.
There is no storm food in the sky yet.....
heat and humidity have increased in the last hour!
High cloud around Portsmouth area is visible!
Keeping my fingers crossed for us in Worthing. It usually just misses us to the east, and Brighton get it. But hopefully we’ll be lucky tonight.

Very wild here all morning. We observed a couple of street lights on the seafront bending at the joint between the base and the pole. Never seen that before - it looked as if they were either going to snap off. Meanwhile, the 2nd fence panel has just been come down from the neighbour's fence...
Yes I saw that earlier too. By the BP garage. Was crazy. Very windy out. I went for a walk along the seafront last night and it was a struggle.

You know in winter when we chase the cold and it fails to arrive? It feel like this now, but the other way round chasing the heat. Just feels like it will never come.

Why does it always break up as it get near to Worthing, lol. I’d really like to know.

Thank you all for your helpful posts. Good to see falling snow here in Worthing, however not sticking. Temperature is dropping though. Maybe we’ll see some more this evening or overnight.

Bright sunshine here in Worthing....
Yeah annoyingly that shower just missed us to the east. What are our chances for tonight or the rest of the week?

Once again I'm looking forward to my cold rain. Looking like we won't get much in the way of snow down here as usual :(.

Once again I've woken up to cold rain. Lovely.

Yes, but stranger things have happened lol
Very true. I have to be up for work at 4am, so if anything has fallen, I should see it.

Current temp 1.4 C with a dew point of -0.8 down here on the Sussex coast. fingers crossed for some of the white stuff later
Fingers crossed. But it's always so hit and miss here.

I don't ever get excited down here anymore. Even if snow is forecast here, it usually rains anyway. As you can see from those screenshots of the weather forecast, slither of rain where I am, snow all around. Not getting my hopes up at all. Good luck everyone else.

Can't wait for my rain tonight (nothing unusual there).

Not holding out much hope of any snow in my neck of the woods. It's only winter I dislike living where I do. Summers aren't too bad. Would love to see some snow though.

Why is the GFS always right, and spoils things? It always seems to have the right solution and it's usually the most boring one.

Keeping my fingers crossed things won't be too bad in London Saturday and Sunday. Going to Winter Wonderland Saturday evening, so would prefer it dry, lol.

Hi Steve, there's currently some variation run to run but at the moment but Saturday afternoon into the first part of the night is looking the windiest on latest output, gusts around 50-60mph possible with some wet weather a well.
Some slight changes overnight but Friday evening into Saturday still looking very windy for areas to the north and north west with gusts around 70-80mph showing for parts of Ireland and Scotland and over 70mph for N England, a second swathe of strong winds into Saturday evening likely for areas further south of the Scottish border but the exact track and intensity of Saturdays low is still uncertain.
Many thanks. We are off to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park Saturday evening. I don't mind the wind as long as it's dry, haha.

Hi All. I am travelling back from Southend to worthing on Monday. Just wondering what conditions I might expect on my journey? Not sure what time I am going to be on the road though. Any help greatly appreciated:). Looking forward to this spell of weather very much.
