looks as if it only needs a 50 mile shunt north but suppose it could go 50 miles further south and Scotland would miss out altogether

Not seen any snow Eilean siar this winter flying down to glasgow tomorrow about midday for the Scotland Wales game and was hoping to see some of the white stuff looks like another bust ball
-
flip spoke to soon its raining here and snow melt
-
Would there be anyone left? Maybe Caithness as well to allow at least someone on!
I do find it a bit odd considering the Western Isles and Shetland have been having a totally different weather experience from east central, though I do love the forum being all Scotland. I do wonder how the all Irish forum copes though - they've got the problem of being 2 separate nations as well!
ithink its great hearing about the weather in the rest of scotland we have snow in Eilean Siar pictures i posted earlier not as much here as on mainland scotland but enough i like the scottish thread better than a uk one shouldnt we start our own.

Hi guys, what a day.
We got to ullapool just about last night to get the crossing this morning to lewis... got up, another 5 inches in ullapool and calmac canceled the sailing due to snowfall in the minch!!! couldnt believe it, so spent the day travelling back to argyll through blizzards, drifts the whole shouting match!!
just home now having battled through heavy snow on the A82 all the way from glencoe village to just south of Crianlarich.
Not much snow here in Garelochhead though..
sorry you didnt get over
read your post last night and wondered if you were going to lewis as i new ferry was not running about 11 last night
-
anyone know what that blob of cloud is to the ne of scotland and where is it going as ii am on lewis and only have dial up its kind of hard to figure it out cheers

annoys me when bbc forcast shows whole of uk but scotland seems slanted and looks as if its further away you need a good pair of binoculars just to see the nothern half of scotland . they then go from the north of england down to the south across cornwall wales n ireland and thats it no going round scotland exept if your lucky maybe a mention its raining in glasgow or by the way its blizzards in the north of scotland now the moral to this is we pay our licence fee just the same as anyone else and should be treated the same with a good round scotland forcast sorry for the moan Saorsa A-Nis Alba gu Brath

No but it is a good excuse to be totally independent from England, any time soon will do. But a weather thread is not the time or place for this
totally agree anyway no snow here or even a sniff hopefully saturday

Let's just stop the Met-O and BBC bashing and face facts. 25 million live in London, the SE and that area of England. Just 5 million of us live up here. Why would they concentrate on us up here when there are so many (5 times as many) taxpayers down there who live in a much smaller geographic area??
Indeed, if I lived in the SE I would demand that they concentrated on the area which paid their wages. Wouldn't you??
We should make use of all the great features on NW which allow us to make our own minds up and our own forecasts or fall back on radar watching.
And we should also feel smug that we will eventually get more snow than them
so you think thats a good excuse for the ebc to ignore scotland well i beg to differ we all pay our tv licence and should be treated fairley wither your 5 million or 25 million

evening fellow scots looking good for the white stuff only problem i have is its our works night out on friday in stornoway and as i live 28 miles from town i hope i dont get stranded with my kilt on any idea when snow will be moving in cheers

That is a disgrace! How it can be fair for Essex to have a radio station but then only one for the whole of Scotland, a country 2/3 of the size of England, is absurd!
I don't know how southerners even have the face to claim there is no bias wrt N and S (I think the bias is more SE compared to the rest of the UK because I don't see the West Country getting much of a look in either most of the time).
If you go independent, can Yorkshire join in?
sorry wrong side of the border
