Its the getting back bit thats the trouble as by all logic stright north is the route, but thats across the hils down there where it will have been worst, and im not 100% convinced that it will be clear by 5pm saturday, or if it is it will be very icey! Guess will have to risk the A350, on the way home, but i can see me asking for some more advice from my Iphone on here before setting off after the game.
Thanks again!
I travel north regulary, if you are going stright back to Shrewsbury its quicker to go A31 - M27 - A34 - M40 - M42 etc, traveling though Dorset/Wilts is slow even when its not snowy
-
I have to travle to Yeovil in the morning to be there at 10am, and then onto Bourmouth (for football) and back again to Shrewsbury (which routes me back along the A37)
Any one got any advice bearing in mind the conditions in the area, how best to go about this to avoid getting stuck, or crashing...
Cheers
Well at the moment, south/south west of Bristol is pretty nasty, depends one whats happens overnight. Safest way would be to forget Yeovil and go M40 - A34 - M3 - A27 - A31to Bournemouth

Just started in Ringwood, settling on cars

Quite amazing to see how the showers have kept going from the Dorset coast and up to Salisbury Plain this evening. Getting on for an inch of rain equivalent according to the NW Extra radar  so there must be inches of snow piling up in an area probably no more than 10 miles wide.
Is there any NW member right under thia zone?
I think I qualify, just had an hour or so of sleet turning to snow, roads covered, just come back from Bournemouth Station, pretty nasty drive. Looks like more on the way
-
Just had 1/2 hour of sleety snow in East Dorset, covered the roads to inch or so, temp +1. Have to take my son to Bournemouth station in 1/2 hour, should be fun

Any body got any idea what this lot is up to?
Heading to Dorset - HAmpshire? see Meteox
Heard on the traffic news that West Dorset has just copped a lot, particularly Lyme Regis where there has been many traffic incidents

In Verwood we had a thunder and lightning show from the SE to SW coming towards us for about 30 minutes, then the storm hit us for about 20 minutes, 33mm according to our local facebook weather expert.
A good one.
