Looking at the way the radar is showing the low evolving, I just can't see how we're going to get more than a dusting down here in Bridgwater which is a pity as it's the only time the town ever looks clean!

Just had a 10 minute burst of heavy snow down here in Bridgwater, but it's now sleeting (mostly rain)

Well, here i am sat in my office in the middle of Bridgwater a forlorn figure!
Still snowing although very light now
Looks like its mayhem on the roads around here, A38 very dodgy, M5 not good either. May have to go to the pub later and wait for the next batch!

Mental down here in Bridgwater - havent ventured out yet but there has to be 7-8inches and its still snowing! Its like going back to my childhood in the 70s & 80s

Well Im not sure if we're bang in the middle of this event but its been snowing very heavily here now for an hour and a half and i reckon weve got 5 or 6 cm lying snow and its still trousering it down

very heavy snow in Bridgwater now and everything has gone white in the last 15 minutes - temp holding at 0.7!
Much better than last night and if it continues like this then we'll be digging out in the morning!

Very similar to last night here in Bridgwater - temperature this time last night was 2.2, its now 1.8 but dry.
I never expected to be sat here this evening contemplating another snowfall, but it just proves how quickly things are changing at the moment!
Very exciting and more to come in the next week or so I think

heres hoping ian, its not very often Bridgwater sees snow!!! lol
it certainly is Ozzy - although being old and growing up in the 70's and 80's this just seems to be back to the good old days!

I've got to say that great clump coming across the channel looks like its heading straight up towards us!
If this is the case then I dont think any of us can predict the outcome of this cold spell more than 12 hours ahead!
This time yesterday I was expecting rain overnight and nothing else for the forseeable future, now we've got a menacing looking low heading straight towards us with the potential for another dumping!
Happy days indeed!

I thgought the system was progged to travel North west - it appears to be going north east instead?

This precipitation seems pretty heavy on the radar, moreso than forecast.
Can the forecast really have been called wrong at such a late stage?
If so - what's changed it so radically?

Its been snowing in bridgwater, somerset for the past 30mins maybe, just starting to settle.
I hope we have plenty more to come!

still snowing steadily - car roof white but all else wet at the moment. I genuinely didn't expect this and thought we were going to have rain.
Just checked the MetO site and we have indeed gone orange! Is this a massive turnaround at such a late stage in the forecast, or has something dramatic happened?

Morning all,
We've had heavy sleet down here in Bridgwater for the past hour or so and the temperatue is dropping steadily - now at +1.7.
I didn't expect anything but rain this week so this has come as something of a surprise!
