I have a feeling Glos/Chelt could be in for a worryingly large dump here if that Radar is to be believed.
The amount of extra PPN still growing behind is astonishing!
( Now ive said it, We wil get nothing )
Do you think it's pivoting and will mainly pass south?
-
As a coach operator, I just hope that it starts to snow early enough for the schools to make the call not to open - rather than get the kids in and then struggle to get them home!!
-
gah! RAIN... in Cirencester
-
Cirencester = 6 hours of constant SNOW, and still snowing!
-
I will miss dogs, South West thread's CHIEF RAMPER AND SMILEY USER!!!!!
-
Just been out to get some milk, and after a couple of hours of rain, it all feels very "stormy" out there! Orange clouds, black clouds, white clouds - blue sky! Looks like low level cloud moving in a completely different direction to the high level?
There's steam coming off the road from the rain, everything is deadly still, very atmospheric!
Could it be brewing?

wow, to my untrained, uneducated and completely amateur eye..... that looks like a LOT of rain on the radar!!
edit: or snow!
-
Im going to stick my neck out also and say this front is going to move alot more East and North than Met are currently showing.
The Orange WILL spread N/E.
ALOT more than people are saying,
you heard it here first.
Just my opinion
this is far from over on the movement of the Front
Amen to that!

morning all.
dank and dismal in cirencester, fine drizzle with everything looking like its wet and thawing. nice to hear dogs is having some down the road in cheltenham.
-
dogs, I've got a lot of time for you mate - you do make me chuckle. it can be hard to convey emotions with written words but you do it BEAUTIFULLY lol
starting to snow more moderately now in Cirencester
-
Nightmare nightmare nightmare day, was hell doing the school runs (coach company) this afternoon! Had to double man with shovels to try and get the kids home. Roads are very bad around Cirencester and surrounding villages.
We'll see what the night brings!
-
Still sunny here ATM!!
Heavier snow seems to be passing to the north of us (chelt/glos)
-
What a lovely suprise, just let the dog out, and its all white outside.... a nice dusting, even the roads
-
fascinating how the front that's crossed us has hit a brick wall on the radar, I presume we're on the warmer side of said wall
-
Snowing well, massive flakes!
-
Well, the UKMO's high-res short-range modelling is still keen to offer snow into the upland Glos areas - see attached (PPN type discrimination, NOT actual PPN rate) for 16Z prognosis, obviously it's modelling - not a nowcast! But a reasonable punt. Hopefully you can make out the bits of Glos - I've zoomed in somewhat.
I'm going to pretend I didnt see the green on that picture, and go back to my post gazing out of the window with everything crossed (sad I know) LOL
temp has been nailed on 3.0 all day here
-
thanks dogs, here's hoping.... I work for a coach company, wonder if we'll be square wheeled this week!!??
-
fella's, what time is the precip supposed to reach us tomorrow?
-
God, I can't cope, I've been watching the model thread for a few days now..... I don't understand a word they are saying but the general consensus is that its looking increasingly good for us
I'm TRYING not to get excited, but its not working!!!
-
Just spoken to my mate in the Duntisbourne/Daglingworth area and its heavy snow, settling..... heavy sleety rain in cirencester
-
and the verdict is sleety rain PANTS
-
Any minute now, its upon us....... will it be rain or snow....!!??!?!? :)
-
Morning all...... temp reading -4.5 in Cirencester, nice heavy frost overnight, everything looking pretty, christmas tunes playing on radio 2 - the scene is set for armageddon!!
Come on snow gods, dont let us down today
-
PIVOT....!!!......shall I give up now LOL

This storm is angry! Fantastic storm in Cirencester.I'd just been in the garden and noticed the clouds all racing in different directions? Looked like they were being sucked up above me? Then all hell broke loose!
