  1. Just nipped out in the car, one side of Llanelli has just a sugar coating (where I am) and the further west you go the more snow you encounter.  I went as far as Pwll and it is lashing it down there with a good covering on all surfaces.  Main roads are treacherous there.  Came back here still nothing with just light little flakes in the strong winds. So frustrating.  Oh well enjoy everyone in the snow, looks like i'll have to wait until next year now for the next opportunity. :sorry:

Wake me up when it's summer. :)

I've been trying to stay positive but all the high res models show it. Met Office graphics show it (though their automated forecast does show snow now)...

BBC website graphics even show it! I find it quite hilarious but I'm going to be disappointed at the same time

Can someone please find out where Carmarthenshire Council keep this switch to turn off the Snow shield for tomorrow,

There's an explanation for that here:

Thanks for that, interesting and disappointing at the same time.  We are just in the wrong location for snow then it seems.  Oh well,  good luck everyone to the east I will rely on your photos/vids to see any meaningful snow.

  4. Whats with the narrow less cold uppers from Swansea up to the north with colder uppers to the west and east, seeing it repeated on GFS all the time no matter where the low is on the runs....anyway GFS looking better to me as cold and snow lasts into Saturday

  5. Why are people worrying if they are a few miles out of a warning area,  there's no solid wall around the edge of the Met Office warning area, snow showers will come through the whole of Wales tomorrow, everyone will see it it's just a more organised area of snow is coming through further North heading southwestwards.  And after the forecast i've just seen with Darren Bett who I find hates forecasting cold and snow is anything to go by we have no worries on Friday.

I'm partly with andymusic on this one, we'll see blizzard conditions Friday morning but i can't see the 3 days of blizzards as yet.....

  6. Gorgeous day here today, just been out with the dogs and it's lush.

My current thinking is showers reaching us during the week heaviest and more frequent to the East, but some should make it out west in the strong east breeze.  Disturbances should be in the flow bringing snow to most of us at times.  As for the end of the week, at the moment widespread heavy frontal snow to all levels but with the cold being so deep i am preparing myself for the possibility that it won't come as far north as models show at the mo and go into France although that would mean we stay cold with further chances later on.

Booked half day annual leave on Friday to enjoy the snow.  I work in the NHS so be interesting if we are told anything beginning of next week.  Got plenty of bird food and fat balls, shall get my supplies in this week.  All the best everyone.

  7. Okay, i've really tried not to do this to myself again but can't help it with what we are seeing on the model runs.

I have fallen off the fence and getting really excited by the prospect of the cold coming in, any snow we will have to wait and see what happens but sure we will see something at some point.

    :yahoo::drunk-emoji: Cheers

  8. I think you'll be ok, it will get colder the end of the week into next but not to the extremity of what the charts are showing in my opinion.  Plus we won't get heavy snow from an easterly, only when the milder air tries to get in from the atlantic and even then the snow would by transitory.

It depends on the type of rock that you're on and also what lies between your location and the epicentre. Also, if you're drunk or unconscious you may not feel a thing. :D

I was a little drunk last night but think i'm ok now, haha.  At the times of the first reports - i was hoovering around that time so may be that's why i didn't feel anything or the builders fitted shock absorbers under the house when they built it. :)

  10. Haha, i'm only in Llanelli and didn't feel anything.  Jut seen people on FB talking about it and didn't know what they were all on about.

These latest model runs are making me a tad excited, but i must keep it in check, I refuse to believe anything like that can happen until it's nearer the time.  But it's hard not to get excited by those runs even if they are a little too extreme.
