Why there is 13cm of snow here and nothing in the town. but yet there is snow in ballymoney and ballymena it looks like the showers just missed out a few places.
-
I have only got 13cm of snow which is frozen rock solid it is like ice now theres no point in it being there lol its been here since friday now.

can someone explain what equinox is
When it officially becomes autumn or spring etc. It is usually worked out by the numbers of sunlight hours or the sun angle like on this one everywhere in the world on that day will have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.
-
I agree what boring weather we are getting, its 15C here in Leeds, boring damp and mild!
Anoo i can't wait to thursday when we get back down to 12c again i for one am not looking forward to 13c tonight and 18c tomorrow under cloud ewgh..
-
i had a sprinkling of snow yesterday here in Alberta..was certainly a cold drive across the priarie to Jasper this morning..some spots down as low as -9c
How are you getting snow when your average is 16.8c lol. and they never listen to me. hmph!
-
Mines is :
Cold temps about -3c with little wind and loads of sunshine reflecting off the iciles and snow with some hoar frost added in as well. I remember that last year mmm.
-
Current temp is 16.3c and dropping after 17.5c max hopefully thats the last mild/warm day now until next spring please! The front is here already! The gfs said it was tay come at 3am lol while early isn't it..

yes but in scientific terms if the gulf stream was to really weaken or stall, is greenland supposed to warm up because ssts are quite warm there, which is still good for us either way. Like with no gulf stream, you can easily say we would go into a massive change of climate, but would it mean greenland gets warmer weather or colder weather??? because that would explain the ssts up there.
We'd still have a crap winter because we are near the atlantic and we are an island.
-
No I disagree there for England, Don't forget Wales and Scotland now
We can have very cold weather in February and March. And although things start slowing down in August it's hardly autumnal either, yes last week or so of august this year Was, but I think we have it just about right in this country.
Yeah inoo sure we were 24c yesterday and thats september which supposed to be near autumn, though its 15c today... whens its ever going to get cold, i see the gfs is warmer now than in august, this is starting to worry me.

Now at just 72 hours out, a full 11 days ahead of any year since 1997.
Its already been, like 3 weeks ago lol.

Was expecting like 1.3c but only got 2.7c because the temp stayed at that for a couple of hours last night which was obvious when looking at ballykelly which got down to only 4.9c which is awful considering we were at 5c at 1am! Typical! Back to hell hole city tomorrow NOOOO
-
Currently 4.9c and chilly ballykelly was 7.1c 40 minutes ago I'd imagine it's lower now we might just scrape an air frost here with luck hopefully ballykelly gets low too so it can be official, but knowing my luck it'll rise in ballykelly... Mm would really love to wake to an air frost with lovely White fields or even any frost mmm but it's that long.
-
Well we have a thick white frost on the grass here which i've never ever seen in august. Currently 1.2 degrees  possibly one of the coldest august nights on record here? it tonight will be colder again then records will be broken around here. Looking at the metofice Trawsgoed at 2.5 is the coldest anywhere in the Uk. Then we have sennybridge at 3.2 and Pembrey sands(right by the sea) at 3.6 or 3.7 i cant remeber. That is very low for Pembrey sands at this time of year especially.
No somewhere in wales got 1.8c , i think it was that sennybridge place, and me i got 6c after cloud and wind staayed all night, it better be cold tonight!
-
Around 9.9c temperature could've been 7 or 8c by now but the wind stayed and the cloud stayed so its dropping while slowly though wind has died off , but still *sigh*
-
If this wind dies away we might get one buts its not, clear enough too 11c.
-
Just seen the latest bbc weather forecast and the chap said there that there could be some snow falling over the highest peaks of Scotland this morning???!!!
Surely the 850's are nowhere near cold enough yet for that?
The 0c isotherm is only about 200m above the peaks, so its cold enough to snow.. plus the last time i checked the 850phas where below 0c all over scotland , northern ireland and northern england.
Currently 12.3c and windy.
Sunshine out in force, humidity of 67% and am expecting a possible frost tonight if the winds calm down.
-
Looks like Sunday night could be a cold one for those in Western areas, would not be surprised if rural parts of Northern Ireland and Wales record there first visable grass frost by Monday morning.
Monday night looks like a cold night(for the time of year!) so it will be interesting what temperature readings we record in the next couple of nights.
Aye with these low maxes its very possible, when you say visible do you mean like winter when everything is white? Would you not need minus for that, i'm down for 2c min and it usually beats that so you might be right but no doubt it'll be downgraded.. i had 2c the other night, no frost though, thats always why i've wondered why people have gotten a frost at that temperature!

Filter as required, if you have any questions please ask.
How do you use that?
-
Could someone post me a link to that wee site which tells you the grass mins i want too see if a few stations got at least a grass frost because of how low we where.
-
Similar temps here hopefully I get one will be up at 6:30!! Would love too see frost again ihope ballykelly gets too six degrees now so we can be official .. Btw is air frost the coldest frost I.e grass frost or ground frost etc?
-
Crap again down to 3c Here again , we might make those values next Monday or Tuesday as netweather forecast it... When do we usually get this?
-
Dropped to just 3C in both Claremorris and Ballyhaise, so getting ever closer!
Aye i seen that, castlederg goto 3.8c.. got too 5c here last night as the wind had kept the temp up at about 10c right upto 2am and then it plummeted it was a pity that the temperature didn't drop earlier... i see the gfs has -0c down for ni next tuesday i hope so!!? This autumn is coming far earlier have been having 14/15c maxes for about 1.5 months now.
-
Yes every time i get excited for snow i either wake up with nothing, a dusting of crap or drizzle and a foot of snow above me.. This winter was awfull, like half a degree from snow and everytime it left it got too like -5c that night... i was expecting loads of snow because of the cold but it either rose a degree or the snow skirted around me or it was light crap, i was so sick of people right beside the sea or wayy south of me getting more snow than me i really hate it when that happens especially when they never shut up about it... and BRAG about it.
