How high up should sensors be? I have a new one, and its a good 8 ft off the ground, suspect it is not giving accurate readings, too high? Mine too is 1.2 degrees.

I've no idea but would guess around 2, away from any houses!! When I popped to get something out of the car earlier, the car thermometer was saying 2c.

Mine is on a north facing wall in the yard where it doesn't get any sunlight on close enough for the bluetooth to connect to the main station. Its accurate enough for me

I’m in Sale also next to the Delivery Post Office.. nice to see back the snow here after a very light dusting

I'm next to Worthington Park! Yes, hopefully, get some more overnight! We don't get much snow in Sale!

  3. Just started snowing in Sale. Its been dry so far this evening! Heavier than expected to what the Net Weather radar is showing. Was -2.5c increased to -1.9c in the last few minutes. Looking at the radar, might continue for a little while.

  4. Started raining at about 17.30 just stopped raining now! The biggest storm here for a good few years. Masses of sheet and fork lightening with almost continuous thundering rumbling away. Many reports of local flooding and the entire Manchester Metrolink suspended. An amazing evening with some wonderful views of lightening. Starting to feel fresher now!

Yeah just normal thunder now. would love to know how many decibels that was.

Wonder if the lighting touched down?

Radar is only showing 2 lightning detected. On the radar is right on the railway line in Stretford, near Trafford Park station where it crosses the Bridgewater canal. I wonder if the extra loud bang was hitting the overhead electric cables as well?

Well just heard the loudest clap of thunder in my life in South Manchester, set off some alarms.

It was followed by another loud clap a  couple of minutes later or so but not as powerful as the first.

    Awesome

Indeed, it was impressive! I saw the lightening and it was quite wide. It took about ten seconds from flash to bang. A few more rumbles now, but not as loud.

  7. Still snowing here in Sale and seems to have got heavier in the last 30 minutes or so. The accumulation isn't much, to say there is 1cm would be generous! It's covered road, pavements and grass.

Been watching the radar this evening, Sale has been in the 'Green' area all evening. After an initial burst of snow at 16.00 which then turned into drizzle for a couple of hours surprised it's turned back to snow. Looking at the radar, might have another hour or so of snow. The current temperature is 0.5c
