So am I right in saying what I have here now is not the worst? As in is there more to come?
The worst will come in the early hours in Cornwall.

I don't know why people are being sarcastic about the lack of wind when the storm hasn't actually got to the UK yet!
But saying that it has been windy all day here & I have just got back from the seafront in Southsea (the bit that hasn't been closed off) & the rain was horizontal & waves were crashing over the sea wall. Latest reports from Solent Met station show pressure as 992.3mb & wind 46km/h gusting to 69km/h so it has become less windy here, but this was always expected & is the calm before THE storm

I've just got back from Portreath beach, to be honest I was expected a bigger swell, tide was going out so not much chance to get some nice photos of the surf crashing into the pier. Light rain has just started, and not really that windy at the moment. Hope this doesn't turn into a damp squib.
The peak winds are not due to hit Cornwall until after midnight.

Portsmouth council have already closed off Southsea seafront this afternoon (yes I know it was closed anyway for Great South Run, but they are keeping it closed).
-
Brittany Ferries now cancelling some sailings from Portsmouth & operating a revised timetable for others.
Hovertravel have already cancelled all crossings to/from Southsea/Ryde.
LD Lines also cancelling sailing from Portsmouth to France.

Already very windy here ... my shed roof has just blown off! Guessing that gusts are around 50mph.
Recorded a gust of almost 70mph here earlier.

No. Still warmish down here & not had a night time temperature lower than 11C yet. We have pulled the bedroom window in a bit, but it's still open, the heating doesn't go on until sometime in November at the earliest here
-
Well didn't get much rain here, just 2mm between 6 & 9am! Though it is colder now than it was last night at 16C.
-
Very hot day, high of 29C & 24.5C now at 6:40.

Very hot & sunny today, hit 29C earlier! Think tomorrow is going to be a shock to the system
-
Turned out hot here today with a max of 28C! Nearby Lee-On-Solent was the warmest Met Office station today with 27C.

Weekend was much better than forecast here. Saturday was bone dry & after a cloudy start had some sunny spells during the afternoon, with a high of 22C. Today started with a spell of very light drizzle, not enough to register on the weather station, then this afternoon was sunny & warm too, with a high of 25C : )
