  1. Does tomorrow hold much promise for anything. I understand its possibly going to remain warm in the south, so perhaps a new oppertunity may come along? I think the NetWeather forcast is a bit delerious with the warm weather. Apparently I am having a storm right now
  2. Ah a local! Can you see anything Cu-like over your way? Im looking W to NW and can see little bits and pieces
  3. How far inland are you to have clouds to your south?
  4. With this foretold CZ, roughly how far inland is it likely to fire up anything? I may consider hopping in the car and giving it a shot if they are going to be within 10/20 miles of the coast. Call me lazy, but the sunshine in the garden is too nice to give up easily B)
  5. I notice that things on the continent are beginning to kick off. A long way from us I know but perhaps an indication of things to come. I will accept that our situation is different tho
  6. Well I can see some slight Cu appearing to my NW now, but nothing of note. Would need someone more north of myself to confirm if anything worthwhile is going on as I can't see naff all really with this haze
  7. Theyre playing the waiting game just like us I think. Unless they know something we dont
  8. Hmmm. Well as things stand I dont see it changing very much in the short term. We still have a good few hours of sunshine left though, and we were only beginning to see things develop around this time yesterday
  9. Nothing here as yet. Still hazy but 23c here with strong sunshine. Sea breeze keeping things a little cooler, but fairly humid and opressive
  10. Ah Costa Del Gosport. Just down the road from Costa Del Christchurch (almost). I think you stand a better chance over your way than we do at the moment, but things took off quickly yesterday and im sure today will be the same.
  11. Good morning all. Here we go again it seems Pretty hazy here with a slight breeze, but very warm once again. Time for another day sat outside watching the sky (albeit the inland sky) as it seems we coastal dwellers ar set to be bystanders once again. Some fantatstic structures to look at yesterday which was great and quite unusual. Good luck to all! Just looking at the Sat images and is it likely that those of a Kentish persuasion may clip something from the low over Belgium and N France as it tracks slightly eastwards?
  12. Whats the story with the torro outlook? They suggested that the developments over wales would move SE. This seems counter to everything that we have seen so far. Any thoughts?
  13. Terrific cloudscapes all along the horizon anything over 10/15 miles inland. Some really strong towers going up, many with decent anvils. Anyone else down south that can confirm if these are giving anything?
  14. Very nice indeed. Shame about the 200 mile wide band between the ones in France and the Ones in the UK. Some of us have to suffer this
  15. Thats pretty spectacular. Nice hard edges and defined shape. I envy you guys up north today
  16. What sort of path are any developing storms likely to take? I watch the sat24 loop and UK developments dont seem to move much and French developments seem to be following a definate E-W pattern.
  17. I can report that there has been something of an explosion over the new forest with very strong looking outlines. will watch and see how this goes. what is the expected direction that these storms will take?
  18. A few bits and pieces bubbling up inland here in the south, but nothing of note yet. Interestingly the IOW seems to be providing some lift and causing CUs to form out that way. I see nothing has developed over northern France as yet wither. I dont know if we are likely to see any imports from that way or if the channel would simply kill them off
  19. A beautiful day here with plenty of warm sunshine that was only interrupted by bits and pieces that were blown up across the channel; nothing worth getting excited about but it didn't stop me from looking every now and then. My question is whether the set up we are likely to have tomorrow is the first 'Spanish Plume' of the year? And if so which areas are worth looking out for. I was pleased to see things actually get off the ground up yonder this evening and am glad to hear that some people got something! Lucky devils...
  20. Evening all I have to agree with what is said about media forecasts. They are not updated enough, and sadly don't seem to be backed up with anything more than is read off of the internet. I accept they are not Met men and women, but sometimes it seems they don'e even look out of the window when reading these things. Many a time I have heard 'Today will start cloudy and wet' and I find myself walking in glorious sunshine. I digress. Rant over I agree that the lump over France will not grace our shores this far west, and in all honesty it is likely to be rain anyway I suspect. Still some snow lying here. Keep a weather eye on developments over the next few days and who know what may crop up. It is the season for miracles after all....
  21. Its amazing how much of a difference there is in the temps. Down on the coast here we are pushing 2c and yet Oxford has -0.4 and up north and into yonder they havent seen much more than -3 to -5 all day. Not sure when the cold will begin moving back down again. My initial thought was overnight tonight, but can anyone shed any light?
  22. Good morning people! 0.4 c here and we still (miraculously) have some snow on the ground. Not been outside yet mind and don't really plan to. Interesting to see that little development move up the channel through the night. Certainly didn't expect that, but I think that reflects the winter to date. Don't get disappointed as you never know what's around the corner. Something seems to come up with nigh on impeccable timing. I can't forget the last dumping at the beginning of the month where only a few flakes of snow were forecast at 7am, yet come 4pm weather warnings were issued and we had 6 inches. Also did I hear rumblings of this potentially being the coldest December on record? The near future still looks cold I think so even if you are hovering around 1c don't despair.
  23. Has anyone else noticed on the satellite images that this little blob in the channel looks to be part of a little low? there is something of a pattern to the clouds, particularly at the 20:00 image and also how the precip on raintoday seems to be following a similar form. of course i could simply be going a bit mad. its been one of those days...
