  1. Well after this morning almost blizzard type conditions this afternoon has been a bit of a let down. The snow generally has stood firm to the 2 degree temperature we have had here, only really melting where the sun has got to work, mainly roofs. Hope to get a bit more tonight and tomorrow, just hope we get below freezing again this evening, its been quite a challenge at times. Could someone explain to me how during the december cold spell we managed ice days here, but now we are hovering around 2/3 degrees. Would love to know why.

same here the temp got to 4.5c max and now is only starting to go down at 2.7c, makes no sense in a cold spell cc_confused.gif

  2. I live in Humberston and work in Grimsby, on top the benches in the Garden (which is always best placed for reading depth) its 5cm, 6 at best. I seriously doubt 8cms is accurate. Looking at the garden as a whole anywhere from 1-5cms - I can still see the road kerb so not enough for my liking. There was more marginally more snow in December than there is now.

Just got to hope for fridays snow that the BBC are showing for us. I know know you feel, I hoped the LP last night would of given more for us, got a 1cm on top of the 5cm, so thats better than none at all.rolleyes.gif

  3. It probably won't - As Lewis said (and as recent experience has shown) these features are a sod to accurately forecast - for what it's worth, the 18z GFS operational has it tracking more or less due south down the north sea tomorrow bringing near gale NNE to parts of the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coast. Fortunately it's not a particularly deep low and the tides are not progged to be very high, as winds in that direction can be problematic in terms of over-topping of coastal defences. Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow morning's High Tide comes close to 8 metres, somewhere like Mablethorpe or Saltfleet on the Lincs Coast. With the wind and potentially some sleet/snow, tomorrow might be quite a wild one. We then get another windy and potentially difficult period Friday and into Saturday.

Even if the LP goes south the size of the clouds spiralling out should hit the E Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coasts whistling.gif . Will a high tide tonight make the difference between lot of snow or no snow cc_confused.gif

  4. It does not make sense, met office say dry and clear tomorrow. So does BBC, yet the metoffice still have a weather warning that they recently just issued for tomorrow..

    WTF?

I gave up on the met office and bbc long ago rolleyes.gif they just can't make their minds up, you guys on netweather much better at predicting the snow drinks.gif they should come to you lot for weather Predictions clap.gif

  5. I'd like to join the club as well. As having nothing more than a pitiful dusting with showers seemingly avoiding me (unless its rain) qualifies in my book. wallbash.gifwallbash.gifwallbash.gif

yep grimsby and cleethorpes are the no snow places to livewallbash.gif It mite aswell be summer here dry.gif
