  1. Tornado on the ground' shot just as it roped out. And it caused some damage to roofs and power lines. New Fairview, Tx
  2. Getting a little lively near Decatur, quarter size hail and huge rotation. Might have to move on soon.
  3. First Braums burger of the season completed, as we head toward Wichita Falls. The kit is working, but as we're in one car there isn't enough connections to stream this little tester, sorry. Hopefully we catch some goodpics and will try to share them as we go.
  4. All set up and ready to do a test chase this afternoon to make sure everything is good to go from tomorrow. No bonus chases this year, but we have to position for the risk on Saturday, and it just so happens that means heading into a risk area tomorrow evening too. A running start for T1!
  5. Check the first post in this thread, I think you'll find some friends at Heathrow :-) And it does look like we'll be heading toward the Oklahoma border on Friday, Hope you guys are ready for a fast start! It's juicy out here, like being in a sauna, and big storms are firing up from New Mexico to Nebraska at the moment, if we hadn't been travelling for 12 hours and awake for 20 hours it would be tempting, but beer and ribs seem a decent second choice.
  6. If you want to get memory before you head out, try these http://www.7dayshop.com/64gb-sd-cards?utm_campaign=memory-deep-links&utm_medium=category&utm_source=memory-deep-link Under £16 for 64gb sdhc is silly money
  7. Weekend chaser convergence is the worst, weekdays aren't generally too bad unless it's a hyped event. Worst case scenario is not being able to get into Applebees before midnight with so many chasers reliving the storm that got away.
  8. I think there was a short data outage last night Mapantz, which caught up soon afterwards.
  9. That was fixed earlier, sorry for the corrupt info. Ian
  10. We're having a look into this now, hopefully it's a quick fix as it's not showing itself anywhere else at the moment. Ian
  11. There may have been a glitch earlier but the feeds and forecasts look ok at the moment. You should be ok if you refresh the data I think.
  12. Paul and I fly out on the 6th - it's all looking good so far. The weather has woken up, the cars are ready to be collected and the kit bag is bulging with gadgets!
  13. Cheers Nick, we were talking about this yesterday. And expecting a total break down in the system...
  14. I think I can see what you're talking about Alex, have you checked the v6 radar at the same time to see if the same issue is on there?
  15. Checking... All seems to be working ok at the moment, you could try shrinking the pictures down to a more manageable size to see if that helps. Otherwise I'll ask the techier heads on the team if they have any ideas.
  16. I used to buy one each year at Walmart and leave it in the car when I fly home. But last year I bought one of these - http://www.7dayshop.com/camera-tripods-monpods-accessories/7dayshop-tripods-travel-pro-tripod-for-professional-photo-video-use-includes-case Lightweight, very small when collapsed, and quick to set up, a half decent ball head too, though I replaced it with a more controllable one that has the spirit bubble in the right place to ensure level shots.
  17. I've not seen any problems Cookie, and there's not been any other reports of the same issue. It might be worth clearing your cache to see if that helps
  18. It was probably a spammer, they pop up occasionally, one of the team usually kills them off before the posts get noticed though.
  19. Definitely a gremlin in the system there. Though the 14c this afternoon will be a nice relief.
  20. Aha, I remember it now. I filmed the garage part in full hd, and forgot to turn the mic on.
  21. We usually have a single car with the streaming camera, as we all travel in convoy having one on each would only show the same view and burn through bandwidth. The camera is mounted inside the windscreen and we try to make sure that it's catching what we are seeing, occasionally the sound is on, but as chasing can be quite an adrenaline rush the language might be a bit 'loud' for sensitive ears, so we don't always have audio on. Of course a streaming camera has limitations, the main one being available bandwidth, we visit some pretty remote places, so the signal can drop out, and the 'Golden Hour' for storms in the USA is around 6pm local time, which means things typically really get going in the late evening UK time. Which results in some people catching up with the events over breakfast.
  22. Weren't we huddled under a garage canopy for that one? That turned out to be not much help as the hail arrived horizontally.
  23. Climax does it for me every time Then Broken Bow and finally Roswell (4)
  24. The MotoGP teams roll into Austin, Texas as the storm season gets into it's stride, how is the race weekend shaping up? View the full blog entry here
