  1. This has to be the worst winter I can remember, absolutely hideous. I am so fed up with this rain and then to top it off whilst running from the house to my office in the garden, I went Ar*e over you know what and got covered in mud. Then you look at the output to see ball after ball of wind and rain heading our way. I love the cold and snow but would happily take dry and surprisingly warm. It must be bad, can not believe I have just said warm in FEB!!!

  2. In terms of the downwelling of the SSW I don't see how they can definitely know at this stage what impact that will have at this range.

IMO its just not worth reading too much into those updates especially when they haven't even seen the latest ECM update.

Its just a cover all bases forecast, I mean not far from the seasonal norm means exactly what. Why not just say temps close to average.

They must have had a stonrg signal for cold and that has reduced and therefore gone for the middle ground. I would agree with regards SSW and would be more how they see the upper air pattern at that time. If it changed back, most of ther population would not notice. Its only us that hang on every word.

  3. Exactly .... It has moved everything south , It goes on to show some Snow for cornwall later in the day , but this probably falling as rain ... It's the Somerset /Bristol stalling situation that seems to be losing support , and any further Southward shift today and the whole area could miss ... Looking forward to 6z data , hope it improves things a tad .

Possibly but a correction slightly further North and game on for many. Prefer NAE at this range tho.

  4. I have the '30' bit over me!!! biggrin.png

Lets hope that our area gets plenty. I think your area is good. Down here it will be more of a sleety mess but fri was great so this would be a bonus if we saw some fall. Still much to be agreed on. The latest three NAE runs have changed quite alot.

Ice Berg will be enjoying the latest NAE and hoping it stays similar.

  5. The big 3 having a similar trend this morning and we can all go back to our normal hobby of chasing cold 5 plus days away from Sat. Though it is not mild, just not as cold. Benign is not a word you would use to describe the period after sat if the output is to be believed. This week is not without interest with further places seeing snow fall and some heavy in places. It has been nice to have a break from the norm of chasing cold in the longer term and having it in the here and now.

So from sat we can go cold hunting, Short Wave dodging and hope GP Met and co are correct in their assessment that Feb will bring some more cold to the here and now.
