Skys clearing now,this has to be one of the biggest non events in living memory for us. You would expect to wake up tommorrow morning finding a winter wonderland according to the local radio forecast. Wondering if we will ever see proper snow again in Notts.

Dewpoints yes but I was looking forward to a nice day of snow tomorrow, our local radio forecast have got it wrong twice in the space of 3 weeks. The last time they forecast heavy snow for christmas eve and all we got was a slight covering then clear skys. The frost and ice was the main problem then it quickly melted.

How the hell can it be 1.5 and still be throwing it down with rain? Tonight you can clearly see the effects of global warming.

Not looking good for Nottingham if this front has stalled. We always miss out on the good stuff.

Been raining all day here now the front seems to have fizzled out and the sky is cleering in Nottingham. Apologies for not posting in this section I just want some decent snow here in notts. The forecasts are confusing our local news website has now said no snow here just drizzle yet the other day they said 20cm of snow. Can anybody tell me what to expect in this region?

I think everyone is confused I have a feeling that the charts will suprise a few of us tonight I suppose it's just a case of lampost watching and not belieiving the fax charts until closer to the event.

Is the gfs chart broken or will the beeb forecast be another c*ck up like previous years? Reading some comments has left me very confused as to wether we will get snow or it will be a damp squib/non event.

Mate our part Notts is still looking good I think you might get something out of this because your not that far from us and our website is forecasting 20 to 30cm. Ps does anybody use these boards from Notts not many disscusions involving Nottm people.

Is it possible that parts of the east mids and midlands south could see a good dumping of snow,after just checking the midlands cold spell disscusion some people seem dissapointed at the latest gfs charts but I think it's for those down in the south where it was forecast rain at first. How much snow would nottingham benifit from if the forecasts proves to be correct. There seems to be lots of topics for different regions would it be ok to open up a east midlands topic as thats where Nottingham is classed rather than just the midlands?.

Is Nottingham going to get some decent snow from this? Everytime we expect it either falls around us or the models change at the last minute. Please dont let this be the case because it was looking so good for us our local news website was saying upto 20cm now there are no headlines at all regarding snow.

What were they playing at on there earlier 11pm forcast, Not a hint of snow or ice day they had temperuaturs progged at 5 to 6 degrees. Iss this upcoming cold spell likely to be another let down. I was getting exited last week by some of the posts on here yet to check the bbc weather now it's left me slightly confused. I think this could be a damp squid if the beeb are predicting correctly It's all very odd.

I would love a white christmas we are looking at the best chance in years. Cant think if Nottingham has ever had snow on xmas day after 1970, Might google east midlands xmas snow events and see if there is any info.

Lets hope your right mate we always miss out. The rest of the midlands gets a dumping whilst we only get a light dusting. When do you think the main ppn will reach nottingham?.

I think this current snow cold will be a non event in Nottingham, Our local paper and website say light snow not expected to settle.
