Its not just the freebie radar. I had the same thing yesterday. People in the Yorkshire thread suggested that it was because snow takes a long time to fall it could technically be falling over you but being blown elsewhere. -
What do people think that nice collection of snow that is moving southwards from scotland will do when it meets the showers coming in from the east? Is it likely to stay on course over me or pick up some motion to the South west? Thanks

Snowing heavly now in chesterfield

Just been out and measured the snow in my garden. 12cm on grass. On my metal garden table it was 9cm

What have they given for Thursday/Friday? Stuck at work and everyone who drives in has used the snow as excuse to go home. I walk in so have to stay till 6 . Did you notice what was going to occur for Chesterfield? For info its very light snow in Chesterfield and has been since the main lot left us about 11ish. I can barely see it falling when looking out of the office window.

Just had approx 5 flakes of snow in Chesterfield and now its stopped. The Sheffield snow shield is in full effect. Tomorrow I expect a sea of white to cover our region with a small green island containing Sheffield and Chesterfield

After a brief increase in flake size that got my hopes up for more, the snow in Chesterfield seems to be petering out.

Back to snow again here too assuming my sticking my arm out the door method is correct :-) Small flakes but getting bigger again. I can see them in the streetlights across the road.

Snowing very lightly in Chesterfield. Tiny flakes. Very dark sky to the north light cloud to the south. We are just on the edge and its going to miss us again grr....

Are we likely to get much snow in Chesterfield NE Derbyshire Thursday or over the weekend?. We always seem to have our own little micro climate here. I need to learn more about meteorology so I know what you guys are talking about :-)
