  1. Thanks again for your input Ian, always enjoy reading your comments/views. Quick question, (sorry been away most of the day etc) the snow for sw over for tomorrow, is that coming from the East, or South? Thanks again Andy
  2. this is pretty good - found it on the south-east thread http://www.yr.no/satellitt/1.5941760
  3. So Snowking - will it snow on Sunday???? Only kidding of course..................
  4. Hi Ian Did you delete your post, or the mods. I got a chance to read. Spot on in my view I love the snow, but as you mentioned the consequences can be devastating, alot of people do need to put that in perspective. As another poster mentioned as well, this is the time were we "all" need to be on the look out for anyone house bound who could do with some extra assistance, it doesn't take much to go to the shops for them, help them clear the drive etc...
  5. here you go - have fun http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/the_way_we_live/article5309167.ece
  6. Thats a massive area, will be interesting to see what PPN is forecasted as well
  7. Hi Craigman - think we will get a few more flurries before the end of the day, but I doubt it will add to our totals Ahh - there we go - flitter, flutter
  8. so what's your prediction then fromey, do you think we will see anything tonight? - Watching the point west forecast it seemed from there we could get something from 10pm onwards on/off until 3am, then maybe more tomorrow lunchtime for a couple of hours? Or maybe nothing at all (im in frome as well)
  9. Looks like Frome will be missing out also, such a shame all looked nailed on this morning - but that's weather I guess. At least the drive into Brizzle tomorrow morning should be OK - - although would rather be snowed in at home
  10. Bonjour - Just had a light flurry in the centre of Brizzle, but I'm interested to hear from anyone around the Frome area to see what's happening there? - Not looking forward to my drive home this evening from Brizzle to Frome
  11. Covering all bases then South West England: Bath + NE Somerset Bournemouth Bristol Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Devon Dorset Gloucestershire N Somerset Plymouth Poole S Gloucestershire Somerset Swindon Torbay Wiltshire Widespread Icy Roads Tue 5 Jan There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting Wales and southwest England. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow during Tuesday morning will fall onto subzero surfaces leading to widespread ice on untreated surfaces. Issued at: 1114 Mon 4 Jan
  12. very true - but as you mentioned +4 days - ssoooooo much can happen
  13. morning guys after a bit of advice, I'm just about to leave Frome (15m south of Bath) where it's raining quite heavily and travel into Bristol (seen some reports of rain turning to sleet in Bristol) - does anyone have any info if this sleet/rain in Bristol will turn to snow?? Sorry for the question but don't really want to be heading into a driving nightmare, also need to travel back from Bristol to Frome late afternoon Any advice? Thanks again Andy
  14. cheers Ian Looks like travelling from Frome to Bristol "should" be OK for the next few mornings/afternoons - although ice "as you mentioned" could be the problem, but snow wise - looks clear for me. Thanks again for the post
  15. Personally think it will be heavy rain for Somerset (all levels) Need to get from Frome to Brizzle tomorrow AM - just hope the roads are clear from snow
  16. cheers dogs, tommypoo Lets see what happens then, do hope for plenty for Frome if it will happen of course Have a good one Thanks again
  17. Merry Christmas all I'm not a weather expert, not to sure how to read all the graphs etc, but I do love the snow Been reading the last few posts with some interest, and I've not seen the latest forecast etc, Bit are we saying "at present with the current info" the South-West is expecting a battering of snow over the next few days? I know everything at the moment is guess work, but in your views does this mean the whole of the south-west or only certain areas, also would this event be generating buckets of the stuff or just a few passing showers? Many Thanks
  18. this would be lovely - but such a long way off, and I'm betting the charts will change by then
