Cool and 100% cloud cover near Dover, Kent. Really hoping it will burn off a bit this afternoon as it's pretty miserable really.
Edit: things do appear to be brightening up slightly.

Whoop whoop just in the amber warning! ?

Eythorne nr Dover. Snow is still heavy but finer so I'm assuming do is dropping. Hoping it starts laying on the roads soon.

The freezing rain has made my windows look like I've had them all frosted like bathroom ones, or too much lager!!....strange!
Mine too, my son's school has closed for the first time this week lol.

Yep. Raindrops freezing the moment the hit a solid surface. Living in Germany in the mid-nineties I've experienced this several times. Most dangerous kind of winter weather. On one occasion it hadn't been forecast and the minute it started the local American Forces Network radio and tv stations interrupted all their programmes to issue road condition black (no-travel for military personnel on or off base; schools, stores, offices that are open on immediate lock down). We ended up with a 3cm ice layer that took 36 hours to melt despite temps rising up quickly above freezing.
Wow! I can see it frozen to the windows outside, really odd! I can see why it's so dangerous!

It's stopped now but there does appear to be a sheet of ice on the car windscreen. Freezing rain?

Is Thurs/Fri snow now not expected to get as far East as the south east corner?

Well it took it's time!!!!!! ? About an inch here in Eythorne, Dover.

If the wind veers more easterly would that help us far south east Kent folk out? The showers die a death as soon as they hit land in the middle between the north Kent streamer and the channel streamer

I am starting to think us East Kent peeps are going to miss out this week ???

Oh I didn't think of that! I also have an autistic child (5 year old) who loves his iPad! Luckily he also seems to love the snow as he spent ages crunching about in the garden in it a couple of weeks ago when we had a sprinkling!

Snowing nicely in Eythorne (between Dover and Canterbury), just starting to cover the road.
