We haven't done well on the snow front but this is still a pretty rare set up. I'm loving walking on frozen ground rather than mud and at least seeing a bit of snow falling and a light dusting. Some pretty impressive icicles about as well. Not seen them for a while. You never know maybe we'll get lucky at the weekend and see some proper snow.

And no doubt some nice views of the Sugarloaf and Blorenge from you location. Both of which have a dusting of snow. The view coming over the Blorege today was fantastic.

according to metoffice torfaen is not in the warnng area but if you go on the bbc website they have the metoffice warning which say torfaen is included but the bbc are showing nothing but rain makes you laugh really how can they show rain and a warning for snow at  the same time lol.Hopefully it will correct further south

But if you go further north Blaenavon at over 350M would be snow. So I'm guessing the MO are edging their bets

  3. That's not a mountain..... Blaenavon is one of Wales' s highest town's at 350 to 420M . .. The mountains that surround it.... the Blorenge and Coity are +550M

Tomorrow's weather should be interesting BBC are saying rain while MET going for sleet for my area.

    Cardiff 365 days a year. ?

Blaenavon and Brynmawr are the 2 highest town's in Wales and we have had about 8 days of lying snow. No doubt there are a few villages higher but I wouldn't think there is a lot of days of lying snow in Wales

    tomorrow's/Tuesday's Brecon beacons meto forecast

Clear spells and scattered wintry showers are forecast in the early hours with a widespread frost, and showers during morning with bright spells in valleys and patchy low cloud covering hills. Cloud will increase around midday with heavy rain at low levels, and sleet and snow above 300 metres, then snow at all levels later. Widespread fog will form on hills at all levels.

Should be interesting for us at the top of eastern valley in Blaenavon then. 350M plus ASL bits of snow in the air this morning at 3C
