I don't remember any cold snaps during the last 4 months, indeed, some parts of the uk haven't had a single snow flake and barely a frost either..that is why I think it's noteworthy that the BBC weather summary for the weekend is :-ChillyWintry ShowersFrosty nightsSounds wintry to me...
Weve had cold snaps and snow days didnt last long though....

Hmm ECM is again going for no cold snap whatsoever
GFS and GEM do go for something colder though for a brief period
It will be between 19th and 25th march......

Well I'm not sure about widespread snow but wintry prospects to me looks widespread in regards to at least Pennines, Welsh Mountains and the hills of Northern Ireland and Eire going off those uppers on ECM 12z at 96hrs. Also GFS 12z.
We had snow lying on ground when we got this morning more expected next week........

So i might get it in brynmawr....we are very high up...........Some of you might look at this ensembles and assume its for the north! But actually its for my location in South Wales! Its not been cold here for at least 3 weeks or more.....be hot tomorrow ...........Which part of wales are you going too?..tbh no matter what the weather is the scenery is at times breathtaking(when theres no hill fog!)..enjoy

Im in the south still got snow in the garden ..........cold now and next week...........Very Doubtful, currently below freezing and forecast to be until Friday at least.

Our daffs are not out yet ..........Fantasic display of Daffs around due to the cold weather and the lack of pollinating insects around.I cannot see any signs of spring around in the model output ,could well break a few records for April CET .

We had a snow plough in our road on sunday and gritters they went up and down a few tmes think its because we have a cemetary attop of hill and the bin men were due on monday i was glad as it was hard to get out with snow and ice everywhere ............We should gather all the members of this thread and make CymruMetOffice!

Weve got 6 inches here in brynmawr ...............snowOnly a dusting in south wales, hopefully we might get a chance if a serious covering before its too late. This is amazing so late in the season. Just shows its not over til the fat lady sings!

We had -20 1995 winter barrhead scotland....but had the best summer 70 plus every day for 6 weeks.......-21.1 recorded in kent ,1947 and -23.3 in liecestershire 1987 as well as the -25 of shawbury 1982.i guess both 47 and 87 were both as a result of cold siberia air coming straight off the continent. also here in the pennines we cannot compete with the low lying vale of york or lincs for cold temps i only recorded -13 in 2010 dec where other areas away from the hills got -18 yet almost all other times it is 3 degrees colder at 400m compared to the pennine valley bottoms just 3 miles downhill summer and winter,work that out?????

It snowed on my sons birthday it was in May...............I have seen snow in May, so don't get your hopes up.
