  1. Sugar dusting in Spennymoor from that shower that just swept through.
  2. Netweather forecast: broken cloud and sunshine. No precipitation. Outside: Complete low cloud cover and raining.
  3. That was the most enjoyably terrifying drive home from work I've ever had. Down the A1 from Washington to where I get off at Bowburn. Literally couldn't see 10' in front of the car. Awesome.
  4. Happy. For the first time ever, I've been able to tow my 6yr old daughter the 1 mile to school on the her sledge. To see the look of excitement this morning. Everything else is now a bonus ?
  5. Bit of a heavier shower whizzing through at the minute in Spennymoor. Keep them coming.
  6. Spennymoor just south of Durham. I commute every day to Washington. Fun and games ahead I think.
  7. Now might be the time if you have elderly relatives, friends and neighbours, to get them prepared in whatever way possible. Dangerous times for our older generation. We wouldn't be here without them ?
  8. Glad that wind has dropped. Bloody gone and blown the felt off my shed roof.
  9. Hehe Mikey Moor, not heard that for a while. I'm at the top end of Spenny, so not far off. Heavy snow here too. Awesome swan song to this cold spell. (well, not THAT cold, but snowy non the less)
  10. Ohh, some whiteout conditions on some of our higher routes. http://www.durham.go...erStations.aspx
  11. Jeez it's raw out there. Lightish snow here, but that wind is biting. Lots of snow blowing off the fields across local roads. Certainly going to be an interesting drive to work (Washington) tomorrow morning at 04.30
  12. Moderate snow again here. As above, anyone else want it?. Getting quite fed up now
  13. Very light snow in Spennymoor. Approximately 9 inches of snow (22cm)
  14. Non too shabby in Spennymoor. Pretty much snow all day today. Got about 7 inches.
  15. Moderate to heavy snow in Spennymoor for the last 40 mins to add to what we got this morning. Temp is 0.3°C
  16. Rain rain and more rain. Currently 5.5c. I hate this type of weather.
  17. 30cm here. [Yesterdays measurement of 26" was a bit off, of course I meant 26cm ]These taken by the wifey this morning in the back garden:
  18. Snowing moderatly in Spennymoor, has been since around 15.30.The roads where a nightmare this morning on my way to work. I decided to set off early at 04.00. Did get the accolade of being the first person in the fresh untouched outside lane of the A1 between Carville and Chester-le-Street Less snow at Washington than here and dare I say a very "slight" thaw had set in when I left for home at 15.00. Idiot halfwit gritter nearly put my windscreen out between Bowburn and Tursdale, the fool though it'd be great to rid the middle of the road of all the slushy snow, by piling down the middle towards me, throwing it against the car. Like being hit by a thousand snowballs all at once. Ohh, I'd have liked a quiet word. Up same time in the morning for another fun filled drive to work. I must be mad
  19. Snow is intensifying again Just glad I've got AWD, otherwise I'd be going nowhere in the morning.
  20. That little lot earlier dropped another 4cm. I now have 26" on the wall in my back garden. Still snowing lightly. Got to be up and away to work in Washington at 04.30 in the morning. Going to be a bit of an adventure me thinks. Not bothered in the slightest.EPIC winter so far and loving it
  21. Light-ish snow shower in Spenny at the minute. Had the dog out 10 minutes ago and it's baltic out there. Don't you just love the cold weather?
  22. Well strange, Kirk Merrington and Ferryhill usually get a load more than Spenny. Been a strange day weather wise all round. Pretty much stopped here now and the winds have eased considerably.
  23. Were the roads bad up to Kirk Merrington and down to Chilton? Pretty intense here for a while, though doesn't seem to have added a great deal to what we had already. Still snowing as I type, but has eased off a bit.
  24. Getting a bit of a battering at the minute. Heavy horizontal snow for the past 40 mins. Still thawing at the same time though, heard what I thought was a rumble of thunder, only to realise it was snow coming off the roof and onto my car
