Chucking it down in big flakes again, this may be our last snow shower of the day, lovely to see though.

BBC showed Sunday's snow as only just clipping the south west of England, which is crazy how it can change that much overnight.

Still some time to go yet but it is worrying.

Showers are still struggling to make it to Northants and they keep missing us anyway, should get better later though.

Showers seem to be retaining their strength inland now, could be a good sign in a couple of hours. Maybe.

ahh, thats cheating a bit!! lol!!!! Was it part of this cold spell?? We got about 1/2" in Dec. Really nice band from the Cheshire Gap- totally unexpected too!! It was the pinnacle of this cold spell for me so far hahaha! how desperately sad.... I deffo will stop moaning if I get 4" of the white stuff before this cold spell breaks.

Na that was the spell before Christmas, that got rained away and thawed before this spell.

Excellent, we caught a pretty decent shower and there's probably an extra 2cm now

ok we probably got about 4-5 inches in December.

I think this cold spell will come good for us in the east mids soon though, we normally do well from easterly winds.

We should be in a pretty good position for some prolonged snow, won't know how heavy it will be till closer to the time though.

I've been keeping an eye on the wash since last night and it keeps disappointing.

I'll just quickly emphasise what I said earlier for anyone else... THOSE SHOWERS OVER LINCS/WASH ARE COMING INLAND... DOT-DASH-DASH-DOT-DOT... MIGHT GIVE AN INCH FOR RUTLAND AND EAST NORTHANTS... DOT-DASH-DASH-DOT-DOT-COUGH

That will be because the GFS is not forecasting much precipitation further than 2 days ahead.

Doesn't mean there won't be any though.

It makes a change for Northampton to get more snow than Rushden.

Not a brilliant covering here either still.

Looks like there is a bigger and heavier snow shower coming from the east but it may just miss us to the south.

Our best chance is probably friday onwards when heavier showers should hopefully start coming in from the wash.

These snow showers coming from the east coast are pretty good.

Very nice band hitting northants, dry spot to my NE is not reaching me and another band behind that is heading our way.

Snowing here in rushden too but we've barely got 2cm still

Looks like everywhere near us got good snow apart from others in north east anglia.

I suppose I can't complain as we got good snow in Dec and amazing snow in Feb.

That's it, no more watching the radar i've had enough.

Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised come tommrow morning but I doubt it, might have a drive down south.
