For all the 'storms' of late tonight is the first with the wind really ratting round the house. Gusts of about 50mph so nothing out of the ordinary but sounds wild!

Yep there are some very odd noises I've not heard before! And the security light keeps coming on. Currently 45mph gusting 55mph.

Heavy snow this morning, don’t think it had stopped much at all through the night, pic from first thing

28cms cover. Showers through first part of the day. After a bit of a dig, we followed the blue skies down to Laggan

Tired the dog out on the way home up above Aviemore, snow knee deep in parts. Dying light but great conditions. Hope people get a snow fix tomo morning

Lovely! Always seems a bit of a waste when you don’t get the blue skies after a heavy fall. That’s my only gripe with March 2018. Sooooooo bloody grey!

Hi I’ve got a few days off so I’m heading up to Scotland in the search for some white stuff, not sure where best to head, fort William, was thinking with it being more in the west,is it high up there.or was looking at Aviemore, will that still get the showers from the west as it is a bit further east..Any recommendations would be appreciated

                                              Cheers jason

What are the chances of the A82 being open tomorrow? does it close a lot due to snow? I am thinking of going to the Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe

They're pretty good at keeping that open.....but plan for the worst just in case. Sleeping bag, spade, food and wotnot  Gawd I haven't had to carry all that stuff for years. Used to carry it around in the car boot as standard when driving about the highlands and Perthshire in winter, and needed some or all of that kit once or twice. Still a good idea in colder spells.

    PS - 62mph now.
