Sorry CG dont really see where you are coming from there....
Can I just take a moment to calm things down a notch CG
The meaning of Forecast [noun] a prediction about how something (as the weather) will develop.
No matter if your an amateur or professional you can only forcast what you think may happen based on all available data.
Given that the guys on this site will have as much data available to them (within a bit) than the professionals they have every right to give us the benefit of their considerable experience and let us know their thoughts on how they see things panning out.
The "professionals" are also giving thier opinions....we will see tomorrow who's interpretation was nearest the mark....surley thats half the fun sometimes!

Been stuck in the office all day...got home and checked out N24 forecast and had a quick scan of the forum....looks promising for the weekend, we have been spoilt so far this winter and its still Jan!!!!!!!

Paul now he has gone maybe sombody can answer my question? on the radar there there seems to be a big lump heading this way it seems to be getting bigger but not moving very fast if at all, where is this expected to go?
It's looking like the Braintree snow shield will deflect it just to the south of Braintree and it'll head down towards Brentwood/Loughton area...unless it swings a smidge east...then game on!! The next radar on rain today should give a better idea
A smidge West even!!! I don't seem to know my erse from my albow!

As predicted earlier it's intensifing in the Thames heading towards Essex.
Do you think I should open another beer and get lampost watching in an hour or so....will it make Braintree?

Did it ? I thought that was west of London for those depths but I'm happy to be wrong. I should add I've had a bottle of Rioja so I'm perhaps a little under the influence
It might be me clutching at straws...it seemed to show a band running across to Colchester and not moving south that fast....I may be completely wrong, but as the eternal optomist.....heres hoping!!

Not as good as I was hoping for Essex and Thursday it all seems to be in the North East. Awesome for Kent and Sussex tomorrow though
Th latest Beeb forecast showed essex to be in the 40cm band on its latest forecast picking up a lot of snow coming down from the North tomorrow am/early PM
Although patience is a virtue I don't have!!!

and the people at the met office obviously know nothing about the weather?
Obviously you would hope they do, but why do they seem to be so off the mark when widely higher totals have been predicted, (I know its nowcasting at the mo)?
Are you in agreement that London will only see 2-5cms?

Just had a lady from the MET office on Smooth FM news at 5 (not my choice at work!) saying that London can expect 2-5cm tonight
Think I will stick with the people in the know for the best advice on totals in the SE....right here!!

London Evening Standard forecasting "extreme weather warning for 18 inches of snow" lol
May look a bit of an overstatement now given the recent downgrades on amounts...I suppose at time of print they were going with what they had.

Hi to all, been lurking for a year or so...have now finally registered. Thanks to all the guys who know loads more than I do, really interesting to see it all panning out and looking forward to anything I get in Braintree
Just told the wife to look forward to 10 inches tonight...I wasn't happy when she replied "why is your brother coming round?"
