  1. Looking at the latest, you'd be very unlucky not to get a covering tonight
  2. It looks most of it'll be just to the west of you, with the north coast getting the worst, but to me it looks like the activity has recently got more intense over the North Sea, so something could flare near you with not much notice.
  3. Kent looks like it's about to get a load of heavy showers.
  4. This is going to sound a bit glib, but it's probably best to wait till tomorrow, as there seems to be lots of uncertainty. To stick my neck out, I'd say you'll get very little until after dark on Saturday, but if the frontal zone develops, you will get a few cms during Sunday.
  5. Car yesterday afternoon and this morning. I'd say a good 3 or 4 inches fell yesterday eve.
  6. Off to bed now. Looking forward to seeing what daylight shows. Cheers to all correspondents today. It's been fun.
  7. I saw the same forecast by Julie Reinger - particularly unimpressive for tonight at least.
  8. From BBC forecast, the way I read that is you might get in on the act tomorrow.
  9. Yeah, it's funny. It looked like Clacton was going to be on the eastern edge of the shower, whereas it's bullseyed. Still snowing here, but radar suggests imminent halt..
  10. To my untrained eye, it unfortunately looks like passing to your east in the main. I guess the big towns of south east Essex are in the firing line.
  11. Picture of car today. Just before dusk. Will upload new picture in morning - we've had lots of snow this evening and it's coming down hard now.
  12. Clouding over now, but no snow yet.. Neighbours must think I'm going mad!
  13. Looks like I'm right in the firing line! Nothing quite yet though.
  14. The winter of '63 certainly wasn't sub zero all the time. I think the very coldest time might have been between about 15th and 25th Jan, when it was mostly continuously sub zero. I think the mean CET Jan temperature was -2.1C, which was the coldest month of 20th Century. February 63 too had a negative CET. Feb 1947 had a CET ( I think) of -1.9C Certainly a very impressive winter, but it had brief less cold periods. So I imagine we'll cope with this, whatever.
  15. I had thought exactly the same thing, as the next nearest place with that elevation is Brentwood, in which case Brentwood would have been mentioned.
  16. To be honest, I'd much rather that than a big frontal system passing through, which gives 2 cms of snow in the first hour and a half, then rain.
  17. Can't see anything yet, but am expecting.. Deciding whether to go for a few beers in Bricklayers, near North Station now.
  18. I've got this sort of feeling too, although I feel the cold might re-establish itself after a short interval.
