Good old rain here with the odd heavy burst to be heard hitting the conservatory roof but didn't expect anything else as it hasn't even been that cold so far here

Hi all, looking pretty good right now for a lot of people in our region.
I wouldn't get too excited about the 'finger' of ppn heading towards London at the moment... I think the main band off ppn that we are concerned with is the one that is currently building in the Dumfries and Galloway region.
My one concern is that cloud may start to bring temperatures up befoire the main band of ppn arrives, which would make it marginal for some, especially in central London.Time will tell, so keep watching the radar and lampposts.
If there's any left which looks very unlikely and then maybe just the scraps which won't amount to anything

I'm in the middle of the latest met office yellow warning for snow tonight but BBC forecast has rain for my area. Hopefully BBC web site is not as up to date as met office warning?

Sadly looking like I'm too far west from latest track predictions maybe a sleety mess lol

Quite surprised how high temp has got here In Attleborough Nofolk, just checked 5.1c, you guys hoping for snow,in the west hope this time tomorrow its not all been a complete waste of time!
I'm not hoping I think it's highly unlikely

Well fair play to the Euro4 called it fairly well tonight. The NMM however is wrong by about 150 miles + massive FAIL.
Those in the W/NW of the region enjoy.
nah it's sliding on west even from here now lol
-
Do you really think it's going to miss, I'm in Surrey near hants border?
nah you're ok for a sugar coating

Credit to BBC for once their forecast has been consistent. Haven't noticed a change all day with light snow forecast from 2 till 5 am in the morning so once again might wake up to a centimetre or two and temperatures look to be perfect as well. But if history is anything to go by the fact they're forecasting it is probably a bad sign!
There wont be any snow in Reading tonight, think that's pretty obvious.

Dying out?!?! Look at the radar? Some of the showers have to come hundred of miles before this is over...
But dying out, two hours ago, way more intense, now not so much. not taking the right track anyway so not sure what the fuss is about. If there's lying snow from it by morning I'll happily eat my own 5 hit
-
I just love posters that say things like its dying out. Way to soon with a couple of hundred miles to traverse before UK exit to say that.
but it's pretty visible for all to see that it is dying out! it's not like it's a secret lol

Polar low will intensify as it crosses the Irish Sea...
No. It wont. not large enough track.
-
looks good to me still
no it's quite clearly losing ppn associated- you can see on the last hour of radar frames how weak it is now, there won't be anything of it left by the time it reaches these ares which would be hours away.
-
the low coming down looks to be doing a good job of fazing out now

Or perhaps if you have a genuine need to be on benefits. Not everyone not paying tax is a scrounger. Just ask your grandparents.
nope, just the majority

I see a lot of METO and BBC bashing in the previous pages!
It's very easy to be a keyboard warrior and dislike any information given to you free of charge. Don't forget, the METO do this for YOU for FREE,
Only if you're a benefit scrounger... if you pay tax, it certainly isn't free!

It's only money. The mental anguish caused by summer is far more costly. Only a little over 5 months til the days start to shorten. Here we go again....
Nope...it currently gets dark at 4.45pm - the next time that will happen will be 27th October which is just over 9 months away from this point. Happy days, bring on the daylight! looking forward to when they roll those clocks on another hour and extend BST. going to happen within the next 4 or 5 years.

Other than a brief heavy downpour today could be mistaken for a lovely spring day. warm in the sun, nice and bright, roll on March!

big thunder claps here - nothing falling from the sky though as yet!

This year reminds of when I lived in Canada (with less snow of course here) but Spring used to be almost non existent, it was lots of snow to some snow then suddenly bang...Summer, would literally happen within a week usually around Mid May and that would be it until October.

i see Cheryl Baker of Bucks Fizz fame was stuck in the snow last night. Wonder if she was singing "You gotta speed it up
and then you gotta slow it down...."
No she didn't know which way to go, she was making her mind up, when she got stuck.

Just back from Monday morning golf. Not too bad with the sunnier periods but b****y cold in the exposed parts of the course with that wind!
Not really expecting anything here at all this week bar the odd flurry like today.

by the time the -10c uppers clear away tonight, that will have been 84 hours of sub -10c in the se third of the uk. anyone care to have a look and see when we last managed that? i checked dec 10 and winter 09/10. neither managed it anywhere in the uk. could be one for kev ?
given that this maybe a rare occurrence, so many of us seem to have dismissed it as we havent seen widespread snowfall. does that make us 'shallow' as weather nuts ?
No, cold weather is pointless without snow.
