  1. I'm more and more convinced that for London (or north London at least), this is going to be rubbish. Whatever we get now will not live up to the hype this event has had since Wednesday. The problem is, we were well and truely spoiled by last February's event, and now we want it again!!
  2. To be fair, it was always going to be widespread LIGHT snow, this was never forecast to be a significant event for London. To call this cold spell 'terrible' is, frankly, rediculous. It's given some of the heaviest snow in years, and even if London has missed out (narrowly) on the worst of it, I think it's fantastic to see what winter can still produce.
  3. anyone reckon london could see something out of all this...?
  4. I think it was the BBC forecast after Newsnight rather than the website, but I agree the graphics are useless up to short range
  5. Quick question - anyone know why the showers in the north-east are keeping their intensity as they make landfall and move inland, while the ones in East Anglia earlier died out as soon as they moved past the coast?
  6. Hi mate, I'm just up the road from you and we've got a pretty decent covering - have you really had that little?? It's been frustrating yesterday and today, an easterly wind is ideal for us but north-easterly useless. The winter is young though!!
  7. It probably won't be clear until this time tomorrow. From my point of view I can't really complain, still got 3.5 inches from Tuesday night and Wednesday which is more than a lot of London got!
  8. Based on my limited knowledge I would say London and areas west look like missing out, at least on the heavier stuff. Gut instinct just tells me this wont be a major event, but it could still change...
  9. Hello all, have been lurking for some time and thought I may as well join up. Just had the briefest of snow flurries in Wembley, which I almost missed while signing up (ironic). I'm assuming most of the fun will miss London tonight, could anyone 'in the know' confirm or deny this??
  10. This is my first post, and it's a little whine (a whinette?). The BBC London forecasts for yesterday and today consistently suggested snow showers for the capital, even when it was fairly obvious little of note was going to happen. Even at 1.30 yesterday Peter Cockroft said 2-5cms in the afternoon and what did we get? Bugger all. Same today. There seems to me to be a lot of 'playing safe' from the BBC. 'If we say it'll snow, no-one will blame is when it doesn't,' kinda thing. Shouldn't really complain as we still have 3 inches from Wednesday. But still.
