Always the optimist...swathes of the country blanketed by feet of snow and I looked out into my green garden (was that 8 years ago!). Then, from nowhere, a sneaky French low bubbled into our region, hit the cold and my kids saw their first ever proper, deep snow.
I'm getting the snowboard and sledges free from spiders and owl droppings because the end of the week shows a chance and I'll take that for now
(I think I last logged in years ago! Lol, snow happiness has returned)

Lights flickering.
2 lightning streaks about 30 minutes ago.
Apple tree is still standing though fence panel is somewhere in the field - great view down the hill now though

best laugh all day! Thanks Karlos. Tempted to bump it when a new page occurs.
Shark - nearly wet myself with your one!!!
-
Done!
change your name, quick!! Brilliant though! Dashing over there now...

Because the adverts appearing seem to be connected with Apple products I would check to see if you have Safari on your pc and then check the settings. Chances are that if you have an Apple product connected to your pc/laptop then QuickTime and Safari will be there too. I tend not to update my Safari and don't get the problem, though not sure why BT yahoo suddenly started showing adds of 'girls' in my area - that's a talk to have with my 15yr old son I think!!

Or even a rubber dingy event... white water rafting anyone...
I'll just get rip roaringly drunk me thinks - still trying to plant our September wheat, not looking good at all if more rain sweeps in. The food industry seems to have come up with a variety of ways to combat meat shortage, not sure how we could combat a wheat one!!!

Brady, I've just been lurking in the model thread and Nick's post did give me a glimmer of hope as well. Even TEIS is suggesting a move SW too. Yes, I'm an optimist so I will watch, wait, see and hope for some movement from the still unborn low.

Lets all do a snow dance...
did we ever stop???
-
I feel very sorry for all the ones without snow and I expect you don't really want to know that it has never stopped snowing here today either.
Wasn't expecting another 9 hours of the stuff at all!! And still it keeps on falling. I'm lower than Brendon Hill so they must be getting loads up there.
-
Yep, W Somerset pretty snowy outside!
-
rain with bits of other stuff here. I thought about staying up but hoped the possible thunder would wake me - not a chance, the rain woke me up!!
Ever the optimist, poss more snow this afternoon.
-
I'm confused....hubby works for Mendip DC, they've all just been sent an email telling them to take work home tonight, to work from home tomorrow, as more snow is forecast - they follow advice from METO.
Tonight? Really?
I thought the weather was showing a change to sleet/snow for SW for early tomorrow morning and through the whole of Tuesday, while AWD's pretty pink pictures are for Wednesday - might get two bites of the cherry??? I know our school is looking at being shut tomorrow already.
-
Mmmm, not really the same is it!!!
-
The dark pink blob has arrived!! Fab, more so as some of the lying stuff was shrinking far too quickly at lunch.
-
Yep Mullender.
Thought it was all dying out from the dreaded midday cut off advised by BBC. Getting worse if anything. Radar showing a lovely blob of dark pink heading near the Bristol channel.
-
I think my children's school was the only one open round here!! I had to take them down in the trusty, freezing cold Land Rover. The schools are shut in Minehead yet they have less snow - no sense!!
Is it greedy to want more????
-
All drinking copious amounts as well!! What does that say about the state of our education system??
You should see how much is sunk on a staff night out, especially Xmas!!
-
It actally is slowing down if u keep watching the front edge keeps weakening then fizzling out
And turning green (new radar subscription and having fun watching the colours), waiting for it to turn a pretty pink now. It's close, so close...
-
Wind picking it up, it's on its way.

3c here looks like some rain is about to come in..
I hope tonight gets colder damn quick!
3c here and had light snow fall for the past 3 hours (on and off) I was surprised to get in my car and see the temp while wiping snow off the windscreen.
-
Very light snow here at the moment. A pleasant surprise. Not settling or anything that good mind!
Interesting developments on the BBC weather, seems not as widespread across the country. Devon seems to have a good chance now as well. I hope there are no further major changes today. To get this close and then see it rain tomorrow morning...
-
Yes quite confused by the NBC graphics used by carol this morning.
Local weather keeps the snow for us, meto has 12 hrs of heavy snow for me and 12hrs of light snow fri sat.
Fax charts which have come out in the last 2 hrs keep everything further west than carols saying stalling the front over our western region.
Still nothing to indicate mild or even average though with 850s avg not higher than -4 for the next 10 days according to gfs
If you're confused by the graphics how do you think some of us feel!
It is only wednesday, we have 48hrs to go. Therefore the Prozac is on the table but still in its shiny packet.
It could change
it could stall
SE winds could pep up and help pivot the front
we might have a chance Sunday????
-
That can be a concern, yep, usually if fronts make it far enough into the uk to effect most of the country then we down here end up in the mild air and rain but I really don't know what's going to happen this time.
It could always stall and then pivot. Juicy then.
-
:-( here is one on behalf if Devon and Cornwall, where is our pink bit gone???? :-) :-) :-)
You're lucky, at least you might be dry, I on the other hand have rain/sleet!!! lol, this is going to be tight.

I was hoping to wake up to a covering but it was like polystyrene balls blowing on the path.
but, in the last 30 minutes it has started to snow. Light but constant and I can't see the Quantocks due to the weather closing in. It is settling here too
