http://forum.netweat...es-the-gfs-use/
That's the data that the GFS uses for each run.
So the reason they can change from one run to the next is because the input changes.
Thanks, sometimes it's better not to ask looking at the amount of input used!
Ok, next question!
If the input changes run to run, why do we look so far ahead (10-15 day+) and count our chickens, are we looking out for trends only?

looking at the model output discussion and their chatter of 'bad run', 'good run' is it daft to ask this;
What information do the models use that can alter their course so quickly, so really the question is why can there be such a different output from model to model and run to run?
And, is there one model that accepts all the data (temperature - upper and lower, wind, etc) to produce its results and if yes, which one?
Grey and damp and mild here this morning. That's fine I have an essay to write about 'workplace discourse communities' to keep me entertained! (not!)

How can people live in the South West and not heard of JJ!
It's the sound of summer on a beach as the sun goes down, you've had 4' clean swell all weekend and your so tired your in a daze.
Perhaps, for people who don't know JJ (Ian that's you!) grab your board and hit Constantine, Harlyn or Mawgan Porth this summer.
Weather outlook - rain, great!

The sea was still cold, even with full wetsuits. But hell, that doesn't change whichever month we are in.
Yeah, know that feeling. Still in a shorty in August, just about manage board shorts in late September!

Looking around the other chit chattings on this site, this coming week has been predicted to be;
mild
cold
bitter East wind
bitter Northerly wind
wet
dry
dull
sunny
Now, that is covering every base is it not?
My local forecast changes so often I might as well not watch and get excited/depressed each time. The time has come, as the walrus said, to wait and see what awaits behind the curtains........

Your just up the coast from me and it looks like a big fat zero for snow for us anyway!

I have been lurking for a while and my whole family thinks I am a complete weather muppet.
Don't let my name fool you all - 'quantock near 40' didn't have the same ring!

sshhh!
I don't think Dancing Daisy wants to hear 'more snow on the way'.
This latest event brewing will probably miss me (sob) too near the coast and not far enough East looking at the BBC weather chart.
Fingers crossed, heck, everything crossed!
