Snowing quite hard here in west Cambs at long last
-
Some nice rumbles in Cambridge now. No rain yet
-
Lovely thunder and lightning here for the past 30 minutes. First storm of the weekend!
-
Morning everyone. Damp and humid here in west Cambs. Don't think we had anything last night because I slept right through and it doesn't take much to wake me. I can still hear rumbles of thunder a long way away but the storms seem to have missed us completely. Very disappointing. Let's hope we strike it lucky for some over the coming week.
-
A hefty band of storms is just about to hit me in west Cambs. Rumbles of thunder already starting and the sky has darkened. The lightning detector is showing no end of flashes. We heard an amazing storm in the distance during the night, which is probably what most of you have been talking about this morning. It was loud where we were so it must have been amazing if you were under it.
Anyway, the next half an hour could be good!

Absolutely cracking storm here in Essex..... still rumbling on in the distance.
Some amazing skies. I've not added photos for ages so hope this works and they aren't too big!
Amazing photos - very Close Encounters!

Tipping it down here in west Cambs. Just heard a rumble of thunder in the distance

Morning, everyone - what a winter wonderland this morning. Currently have about two inches here and it's still snowing - they're only tiny flakes of snow but quite heavy!
-
Morning - not a flake dropped from the sky here overnight. The radar looks very clear for the bulk of East Anglia today
-
I know what you mean, when ever there is a ENE wind then theres always a gap in the showers and im normally always in it. pretty frustrating but i think we have more of a chance later on in the evening where the wind becomes a straight easterly.
It's my own fault, really - and I apologise to everyone in Cambridgeshire. I treated myself to a really nice pair of snow boots just after the last cold spell in February. As soon as I bought them, I knew I'd never get the chance to wear them - lol!
-
Evening all - we've got masses of showers to the north heading towards Leicester and the Midlands, and masses of showers south of London, and absolutely cock all in between. I hate easterlies - you would have thought living in East Anglian is a prime location for easterlies/north-easterlies, but they end up missing out a huge swathe of the region. Oh well - at least some of you Kentonians will have some fun over the next few days. I could have done with a couple of days off work due to being "snowed in" í ½í¸„

Hi - chucking it down with snow in Cambridge, although it is wet snow, settling a little on the grass
-
Snowing lightly here in Cambridge now. Notice from the radar we're under some darker blues from this small band of snow to the south of us.
-
Wow, what a day. Started snowing here at about 9am and hasn't stopped all day. Have between 4-6 inches here and it's still coming. Might have to work from home tomorrow
-
Fine snow here in west Cambs but coming down quite heavily. Hoping the really heavy stuff stays away until later as I've got to go to Peterborough at lunchtime
-
Yes, those blobs are heading in a nw direction. Snowing nicely here again as well
-
Just got back home from Cambridge and pleasantly surprised to see a couple of inches - even been some drifting in the wind.
-
Light snow now started here at work in Cambridge
-
Oh well - looks like the Midland blob is slowing moving away. It was actually over me earlier, but saw no snow. Look East said it might give the west of the region an inch overnight, but god knows how
-
Another band of showers heading through the Midlands at the moment - they're heading straight for us. Wonder if they'll get this far? Could we get some more in the next few hours?.
-
Throwing it down here, not settling though. Judging by the members out west, should we be expecting it to settle here soon?
It's only just settling on wet roads here - it's topped up the grass nicely, but it's quite wet snow and doesn't look like it will hang around much longer. If it carried on snowing for the rest of the afternoon, it would really top up the roads and paths, but it's moving quickly through
-
I thought this band was to slow up as it moved east? Appears to be moving through quite quickly
That's what I thought - at this rate, it will have gone through Cambridgeshire in an hour
-
It's really chucking down - settling nicely on the snow we got last night on grass), but not quite setting yet on the paths and roads as they are pretty wet
-
Proper snow has now arrived - yay!
