  1. Was spoilt rotten by an amazing storm in Cambridge earlier today which went on for about an hour and a half. Lost power and phones. Got home and am now experiencing the southern arm of storms that TEITS is under. Lots of thunder and rain, although not quite as good as what Peterborough got. Might be another hour of radar-watching to come :D

  2. A new month is here and May has passed by.

It became a quite normal temperated month over here.

Avg. Maxima was 16,0°c and the Minima around 5,5°c,

so very near the normal, just ½° above it actually.

The rainfall was just like any May-month, nothing special

really, not especially much, and no extreme drought which

was significant for April this year.

The temperatures varied between -1°c the morning of May 1st,

and 26°c the last day of the month, in the middle of probably

the biggest heatwave in Sweden for a long time in May.

Many stations along the coast of Bothnia had some heat records,

but now into June the heat is over, with a recent newcomer from

the north, a cold front, which has put down temps. with 10-15°

    from recent days.

It is now 8,5°c with quite some rain. Yesterday it was 23°c at this

time, quite some difference! And this mess will probably stay here

at least one week further from now. :good:

    Hi, Swedish Weather

I'm going on a Baltic cruise next Wednesday (10 June) for 10 days and due to spend a day in Stockholm on 14 June. Look forward to receiving your updates. We're also visiting Copenhagen, Oslo, Helskink, Tallinn and St Petersburg

Hopefully this northerly snap - that we're experiencing as well - will have disappeared by the time we get there :)

  3. Snowing here again - quite heavy. Had very heavy snow overnight which resulted in nice covering again. A little bit of rain first thing made it a bit slushy but it's snowing again now. The heavy rain yesterday hasn't washed any of the deep snow cover. Looking at the weather for the rest of this week, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere, meaning that it will have been here for 2 weeks - amazing!

  4. Interesting the BBC weather just shown the band of snow across the south-east extending northwards well in Cambridgeshire and he even mentioned Cambs getting snow tonight - this band has gradually moved north in every weather bulletin today. Could be another interesting night coming up. I've got a foot of snow at the bottom of my garden and 7-8 inches elsewhere. BBC didn't mention any rain today, although the radar has a band heading towards us slowly now. Hope it fizzles out before it gets here
