    Just arrived in Bredbury near stockport,journey from Burnley was uneventfull,no snow until rawtenstall,then got a little heavy around jct 18 at simister,then very light all the way around the eastern m60 here to Bredbury,atm its very very light snow which as just about covered the ground

    front is certainly stalling now,looks like the BBC got it right last night with the warnings,latest radar showing some real beefy showers now pilling into the east coast,reports of thunder snow there too,here still dry as a bone so not expecting anything except a light dusting http://www.meteoradar.co.uk/home/maps?bg=0

    Good morning all,a quick update from East lancs,we had some light snow last night,but dry as a bone this morning so far,my guess is we wont get that much here,band looks like its stalling and produce just light snow

    Flashes of lighning looking south from Burnley towards the rossendale valley,looks like another appraching storm!!

    Torrential rain with frequent thunder and lightning now afffecting the lancashire/Burnley area!!

    Quite an intense storm here in lancashire at 3am this morning,intense rain and frequent lightning which caused a power outage in the area,was quite surreal to see the streets in total darkness except for the frequent flashes of lightning!! Storm passed by 3-40am but has caused flooding in the region!!!

    Heavy bursts of snow here in Burnley from around 7-30pm, gave a very light covering...stopped around 10pm and now turning more sleety!! seems to be thawing rapidly on surfaces..

    Light snow shower just passed through here in Burnley,cloud well broken,though possibility of more light snow for the rest of the morning!!

    A few flakes of snow now blowing around in the wind,cloud well broken though and sky bright!!! looks like its going in line with the current forecast for this area,light snow this afternoon!!
