  1. He’s the group lynchpin. Love his posts. We all get a bit frustrated at times because we’re all mad weather people.
  2. For the love of god, go buy all the milk and bread you can find man. You know you’ll regret it otherwise. and….be careful what you get out in the snow. That’s risky business.
  3. Looks like this particular SSW has reinvigorated the Atlantic . Couldn’t make it up
  4. Although there's some chance of the white stuff, it looks like there's more risk of grey, damp and cold weather. The worst type as far as i'm concerned. Especially in spring. Horrible. I hope we (IMBY) dont get a repeat of March 2013, that one goes down as one of my least favourite months ever. 50 miles north had lots of snow, we just had freezing grey weather.
  5. Apparently around 1 in 4 SSW’s lead to cold conditions in the Uk. So i it’s not guaranteed but does increase chances
  6. I remember that. There was a bit of a dangler situation going on. Cardiff and Caerphilly had a proper dumping but we had very little just down the road in Cwmbran. I felt proper hard done by
  7. We are quite exposed here, we can see the Bristol channel. We had a few intense bursts. Still a bit wild. we experienced several worse episodes during Winter 2013/14 and a few more since. Cheeky little storm though.
  8. What's been notable for me this month is how nice all the Sundays have been, they've all been dry and mostly sunny which is impressive for November.
  9. not a good year for St. Swithin I think August has become my least favourite month. It’s become reliably disappointing. In the past 10 years I can think of dry spells that span all other months apart from August.
  10. Just seen Met office update showing risk of freezing rain on Saturday. Now that would be a slap in the chops
  11. I remember it, just. I was 3 at the time. My mother had to walk a mile home from the childminder carrying me and holding my 5 year old brothers hand. It was mid afternoon and she describes not being able to tell roads from pathways. It continued all day and night. By the morning there were huge drifts. We have plenty of photos, one showing only the bumper of our Vauxhall Chevette, the rest of it under a huge drift up to the garage roof. All the men folk in the street for together with sledges and walked to Ty-Coch dairy and returned with milk for the street. Amazing!
  12. Nice to see it coming out of the sky. Last week was great but woke up to it. not a bad week of winter this
  13. Starting to think they have this badly wrong. hammering here and it’s in for a good few hours
