I'm glad I counted the flakes on my frozen windscreen this morning haha. I think we could be in business next week when the NE wind kicks in.....

Still 30.1C here too. We had a sudden rise in pressure of around 1.0hPa around 18:45 and the wind switched direction completely from SE to NW. Looks like we wont be getting a sea breeze to cool down tonight!
Thanks for the updates Reef, I always keep a close eye on your readings (and posts) as you're only a few miles up the road from me in East Hull and closest to official readings

You are correct!thats a full move to gfs i think!!just imagine if gfs pips all the other models!what a victory!!!!
Sadly if it's showing mild it'll be right. Whichever model shows the mild always wins out even if everything else goes against it. I'm a coldie and it really does my nut!!!

Yeah got to say from 14.00 it's been class.
A lot better! Not quite 2010 levels but us snow starved Hullies will take it!

Can confirm been heavy but short showers here now. Appears they beefing up and lasting longer...if only my wife would say that

Really?! Brilliant! Must be because you're under a heavier bit at the moment. Keep us posted.
Yeah bit shocked really. It's back to sleet now, must have been that heavy blob!

All is not lost GFS 12z pulls further North but as @Jeremy Shockey could be some nice surprises as the North Sea snow machine pulls some hefty showers through.
I reckon we might get a nice surprise Chris - not from the front but from them showers.

Not driving until tomorrow morning but walking the dog was a bit like dancing on ice.. it's a ten from Len style haha. Did catch a few flakes as well, and not my dandruff for once! Was with my girlfriend in the car, told her that the road didn't look like a 'rain wet' but rather a 'freezing rain wet' looked far more matt in colour. First time experiencing it though.

no not nice, can report it's now snow but falling on the earlier frozen rain..best find me ice skates haha :-)Nasty, heavy sleet here at the mo. Worried about the freezing rain reports. Was in an ice storm once in 82, not fun. Hope this clears through and the next showers are of snow, not what we want from a cold spell.....
Edit: now sleet/rain and ice under foot..Not good.

Snow last night, freezing rain tonight...intresting if not dangerous....let's see what happens
-
The shower that just passed over here was actually freezing rain. The temperature was -0.2C while it was falling so we're under an inversion it seems.
Hopefully the next few aren't rain as the last thing we want is the roads being like sheet glass in the morning!
Can confirm rain/sleet/hail and really not liking the look of the road outside, the laying snow and slush that's left has frozen solid, that 3cm we had last night would be nothing compared with ice rinks causing Hull to be at a standstill if this continues
-
Not much more has fallen, but looks good and frozen out there with the moon shining on frozen surfaces. :-)
-
It was only light here then Chris! Have you still got a station? What's DP showing?Hammering it down now Wayne

Well a bit of snow and Hull's at a stand still! Looks good until Thursday now, only thing that's nagging me is the DPs seem a bit high for my liking.
-
Absolutely Tuting it down here, massively dissapointing as everything had dried up.Got to say I'm writing this spell off as a total and utter disaster !
Yep it might as well be mild if it's gonna rain! It was always going to be marginal today...story of the winter really so annoying! Anyway it's supposed to cool off again later, but I'll bet my house on it when it does, the precipitation will be limited. Tues/Weds are meant to be NNE which normally deliver here but any one want a bet on a warmer sector spoiling things!!

Fingers crossed Chris! Was expecting sleet at best, maybe just maybe we'll be ok!Big fat flakes looking good for tonight and the rest of the week...finally !

Where's the freezing fog warning for our area. Been stuck under it all day and below freezing but no warning. Not that us northerners need a warning I just find it strange?!?
