Why does interesting weather always arrive at midnight? Need to sleep but got to see whether this band is snow or rain! I guess the dog will get a late night walk:)

If the amount of rain we had from the front is anything to go by, I predict a really significant snowfall for those of you further up country. It really pelted down for hours before we got some snow here - the front has just cleared now.

Incredibly, after heavy rain all morning, we have settling snow on the ground in West Cornwall! First snow of Winter 18/19

More of a noticeable chill to the air now, sleet and soft hail coming down in the showers here in the depths of Falmouth
Hang on a minute I need to go an look more closely at this rain

Very wet, very cold, no sign of even sleet here
Might have to book a holiday somewhere where it actually snows

Well, at least some red blobs crossing West Cornwall on that animation. Making me feel a bit more hopeful, thanks Mapantz.
As long as I see at least one flake of snow this week I'll be happy!

At least the current charts are showing weather of interest, whatever the outcome. Great charts showing promise in 10-14 days time at least keeps us all engaged.
Endless charts showing mid/wet/windy weather all winter with no potential interest would have most people finding another form of entertainment
To me, it looks like the chances for some notable Winter weather are increasing substantially, with the potential for some snow as soon as the weekend again!

Someone turned on the hairdryer down in West Cornwall - all back to green overnight

Light snow and -5°C here on the Lizard. Lots of drifting snow off the runway at RNAS Culdrose almost blocking the road on the way to work! Looking forward to more heavy snow later hopefully!

Heavy snow with drifting in St Keverne (on the Lizard) and looks like more coming!
Will post a pic when I can find some mobile reception

Brief snow shower in Falmouth had left our first covering of the cold spell. Probably all of 2mm deep

Tiny flurry of snow on the Lizard in Cornwall - just the end of the Channel Streamer - hoping for more later!

Just a dusting overnight near Truro but several cm on the way to work, all the way from Penryn and on the Lizard peninsula.

The TWO radar is working and looks good for us http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/twodata/uk-rainfall-radar.aspx

Damn radar has stopped working, not sure when to time the dog's walk At this rate I'll be listening to the US Open Tennis while looking out of the window....
-
Netweather extra radar has the precipitation type as snow over West Penwith, just ahead of the main band. I'm taking that as a good sign Anyone watching out the window in St Buryan tonight?
-
Just moved back to Cornwall after 10 years in the North East, been regretting it a bit these last few days A little snow tonight would make me feel better!
Definately below freezing tonight and that precipitation seems to be coming our way!

Awful weather here in south Co. Durham. Cold rain/sleet, very windy, rattling tiles and windows. The dog's going to have to wait for her walk for now.

That wasn't you behind my house attemping to sledge on a bit of plastic was it?
View from garden looking SE, altitude 360m asl.
It would have been if the kids had anything to do with it but i forgot to put the sledges in the car Not quite enough on the ground yet anyway.
