Barely seen a flake this winter let alone anything settle. Absolutely shocking

Nice to see most of the models giving us a glimmer of hope before the end of this winter, but we have been here quite a few times this winter for it all to either water down or completely disappear, let’s hope it actually happens but let’s be honest we are talking 10 days away as usual so I wouldn’t get any hopes up

MattStoke is that snow lol
-
If you look up into the clouds you can see the snow moving along lol, just sleet at the surface here though awful day out there

nobble you never no, think height will be key but even then may just be sleety crap
-
You know the first thing we are all going to do when we open them eyes is think is it white or wet? Open the curtains to be treated to…..
that horrible walk with the kids to school, wet paths and cold sleety rain slapping us in the face.
bring on the warm summer and a good old humdinger of a storm that’s what I say

MattStoke don’t they always? Especially when it comes to snow. This winter has been a joke

Metwatch yeah just traveled back from redditch and it was 4.5c there, got home and it’s 3c so you just never know
-
I’m still kind of thinking I might get a bit tomorrow until late morning as it’s fairly high here but who knows

Think I may get a bit of sleet crap and then a nice cold wet day ahead. Can’t wait

CoventryWeather yeah same, I don’t want ssw late in winter to give us a cold spring, get the start of March out the way and then bring on the sun and get that bbq clean
-
Eskimo yeah I suppose that’s correct as Iv also seen snow on the ground and yet snow falling from the sky is melting it lol, everything needs to come together correctly and this winter seems far from it for this part of the world unfortunately
-
Eskimo it don’t matter how wet the roads are if it snows heavy enough it will settle, seen it soooo many times

I’ll happily take a dumping of snow for one day and then it can thaw away and get ready for some spring warmth

I still think there’s going to be a 50 mile shift yet north or south, obviously hoping south but could be either although today there’s definitely a shift south in proceedings

Whilst it’s starting to look like large areas of the midlands could be in with a shout it’s still Tuesday and so that’s plenty of time for change when it involves snow. Is this time tomorrow it’s looking similar then yes there’s a decent chance but even then Iv seen it all go pear shaped. Yes it’s exciting but we really need to remember how things go wrong when snow is involved

Quite often you see let’s say a slider coming in only for it to all of a sudden become a big round thing going north and then few days later the models then latch back onto the slider solution. I’m not saying that’s going to happen but I really wouldn’t be surprised.
no model has won or lost and they never will, they are purely computers giving a prediction of which in the end they will pretty much meet in the middle give or take a little.
lets see what the morning brings but I can pretty much say confidently that this low is not handled correctly just yet

Although a different set up to the January one where a disruptive band was supposed to cross central areas and ended up in France where we just got the cold dry rubbish. I can’t see the same thing happening here but it’s still a concern after this strange winter we have had so far.
id take a snow day even if it turns milder after as I’m sure many in here would too.
lets see how this plays out over the next day or 2

Personally I’d be happy with a good dump even if it was gone the next day, just getting snow around here seems impossible these days. Can’t handle another dry cold spell.
things certainly starting to look interesting again at last but as we all know it could all be gone come tomorrow so let’s not get carried away just yet

Day 10s, I think we are staring down the barrel of our next chase - and it isn’t at day 16 on the GFS which is nice!!
This time we are chasing the easterly or north easterly - rather than getting watered down like a northerly these can often quickly establish into something far colderYes they can and let’s hope this is the case, but just as likely imo is they completely disappear at the flick of a switch, need to hope the trend keeps it over the next few days and then just maybe there will be the next chance of something cold and d.r.y. ?

Barely a flake here yet this winter, it’s been proper shocking especially this cold snap after all the hype

Personally I don’t get the fascination with cold weather, if we get snow then yeah great but bone chilling cold and dry doesn’t float my boat at all, would rather stormy and mild
