  1. Snow was never meant to get here till till after dark. Which is exactly what this region needs, so as to allow the temps to drop from roughly 2.5 - 3.5'c at the moment dependant on location. Just hoping there is enough left on the front to better the icing sugar dusting we got in south east sheffield last night.. Fingers are crossed !

  2. temp stuck at 3.3c here any idea when it should start dropping?

Anytime now. Wind is now northerly and lower 850's are racing south just ahead of the band that is currently heading ssw from the durham/darlington area. Fingers crossed the north sea element may intensify the precip a little ??
  3. Thing I dont get, this cold spell is yes cold, but unless you live on the tops or up a big hill with elevation the best we can expect is rain or if lucky, sleet. I noticed the latest look north forecast showed the atlantic pushing a front through for thursday with rain preceeded by snow, so any accumilations soon washed away.

I feel your pain allenar.. although a much cooler start to the season, it does seem that us living at moderate heights are watching the POTENTIAL for others. Tonights cold front seems to be losing its will to live as it heads south over the border. Saying all this - I WILL be radar & thread watching with fingers crossed.. ( moan over )!
