No, Tap o' Noth near Rhynie., taken from just short of the summit of the road over Sui Hill. My view every morning and evening as I head to and from work, when I can see the view that is.
Aye nice view to have on the commute. I take the Tarland route home most days to see the view towards lochnagar from queens view. Fantastic scenery when the whole area is white.

Finally got home with it light enough yo get some pictures. First from the top of the hill behind the house, stunning view normally, enhanced by snow.
Then took a few around the house, this of the back...
And the view looking south from in front of the lounge window...
Weather has been a bright sunny Winter's day. Started off at -6C and was around 1/2C when I got home about 1:30pm. Doesn't seem to ha e been much snow loss, long may it last.
Is that Bennachie in the top photo? Currently -1C in aboyne. Was -9.4c at 5am. Plan to head out jogging with the sledge again this evening. 4yr old loving it.

Underestimated snow depth above. Up to 4in deep across the back garden tonight. Snow too powdery for snowmen or snowballs with our 4yr old. Still I got my exercise and he got plenty smiles with me out for a jog pulling him on the sledge. Maybe my expectations are too high but I reckon 1-2ft of snow here by the end of next week. We did well last March and given the synoptics showing at the moment we could end up with a decent spell of winter arriving three weeks following the SSW. According to the previous owners of our house in Aboyne there was 3-4ft snow in the back garden in Dec 2010 and the roof gutters were ripped down. Builders doubled up on gutter supports when they fixed all the houses in the cul-de-sac. No problems last March except for walls of snow from gritters keeping roads clear. The Scottish ski centres will be busy shortly.

Couple of inches snow in Aboyne. No melt during daylight hours. Interesting commute to Kingswells this morning leaving the house 5.50am. My 4wd golf and winter tyres did the job well as usual but witnessed a few folk skidding on glass like ice near Westhill and off the road with no control whatsoever. -2C at the moment and expect -5C or lower overnight with the snow cover here.

Thanks.. i currently have a grand scenic 7 seater. is this ok to fit winters to?? i am looking to replace this car with something more suitable tho.
Might not be worth the investment if changing the car soon. Check the book or door plate that show tyre pressures. I would imagine it will tell you what M&S tyres to fit and pressure required. I've been fitting winter wheels myself since winter 2010 and have never looked back. I change the wheels over myself Oct/Nov and Mar/Apr. Spreads the wear across two sets of tyres designed for summer and winter. Winter tyres are also very good in the wet even if no snow. Check tyre reviews before buying as cheap winter tyres might disappoint (especially wet handling). I've found winter tyres to be so good that I'll take back roads in heavy snow to avoid traffic - roads that most folk avoid in snow.

Thanks all for the helpful replies. any tips and advice on winter tyres?? whats best etc??
Just received my Dunlop winter sport 5s today on winter alloys. Also used Dunlop winter sport 3 and vredestein snowtrac 3. Both are very good winters. Night and day different to summer tyres.
