I'm in Allesley Coventry and it's been snowing here for an hour. Which part of Coventry are you in?

Same model. He is just referring to fact that the amplification up to Greenland looks better in the 18z gefs run than it did in the 12z run.(hence upgrade).
Thanks! So better = clearer / easier to interpret / more reliable? Shouldn't the standard of model be equivalent on each of the runs.. I find this all a bit baffling

I'm exactly the same, we have two yorkies who have never seen snow.
I was gonna film their response to it
You cannot make it up for this area.
People bang on about how snowy 2010 was ,but here we got a slight dusting whereas every direction just 10 miles away had a foot or more
That was exactly my plan. Maybe I can drive over a few miles west and join in the fun. Not the same as the snow coming to us though.

Looks like the front has stalled and is now pivoting, without getting as far as Coventry.
We're so damn unlucky here
I am in Coventry too. Gutted. Woke up early and been waiting in excitement for the last two hours. Was hoping that the baby and our young snow dog would be able to experience their first snow today. Looks as though it just won't happen.

Still waiting excitedly in Coventry for the first flake. Can't be long now. Didn't see a single flake of snow all last winter and our young malamute will love her first snow.

May 1976 was warm in the south but relatively cool in the north. Fairly changeable month but sunny in the south.

Whilst I'm a lover of sun and warmth, it's safe to say that it is a terrible outlook for hayfever sufferers, those with other medical problems related to heat, can't stand heat etc. Skin cancer is also likely to increase with the high UV levels and everybody going out.
Fair enough, but we've had a long, hard, cold winter.... I am going to sit in the sun with my factor 50 and have a few glasses of Viognier. YOLO I was in Spain last June and it was considerably hotter. The locals in these Mediterranean lands treat the sun and heat with respect. "Mad dogs and English men...... "

Why is this not a good outlook? Heat and fine weather are surely welcome in the height of summer

Love these pics LoisE. In fact I loved the sheep one so much I saved it to my iPad to look at again later! (there's something very peaceful about pics of sheep in the snow ....)
Whereabouts I the Peak District did you take these?
Hi! Glad you like the pictures! We drove around roads near to Baslow, Little Longstone and Hathersage. It was all pretty, but we quickly realised that we could get stuck in the snow. We steered clear of some of the touristy towns.

That is very frustrating, I agree. ThInk we were also in that category.Yes it did, but WITH RAIN...so snow wont stick? Which makes it pointless.
