2 minutes from where i live, the bottom is the main road from Castleford to Allerton Bywater, Kippax, Garforth etc.. it normally floods a couple of times a year, the road is on a flood plain, however it seems to be worse than ever this time, not sure if this is due to recent flood works done further up in leeds on the river aire.  its a 25 minute detour around when it floods.

Every-time a flood warning comes in, the garage on the left, the owner has to move about 20 cars he is selling to higher ground before it floods as quick as he can

Unfortunately not, they're all drifting slightly south of west so we missed it again. Its not looking great upwind at the moment, really need a straight easterly here for our best chances but don't see that happening tonight

Yep I caught the edge of that band but then it went south gonna stop looking at radar for a few hours methinks and see if it improves later

  3. It will definately flood near where I am in Allerton Bywater the road between here and Castleford is a flood plain and the main route into Castleford from Leeds side, kippax, garforth etc.. Luckily it won't take out any houses apart from one poor bloke who has a car garage on the road and every time a flood warning comes along he has to move dozens of cars to safety it happens 3 to 4 times a year

I live at 15 metres above sea level not far from Leeds, on Saturday the 2nd January we got a good dumping of snow, would be interested to know what people were predicting then for lower levels and what the temp, dew point, wet bulb etc was.

Please explain the difference in conditions for someone who struggles with the charts then

People in the thread were saying similar things back then about lower areas struggling, but as mentioned I'm very low down and got a decent covering, i just think the below 200 metres it wont snow is a default message people throw out there and living in a low lying area it really can grate sometimes.  Some would probably still say that whatever parameters the models were showing.
