even though its raining the sky has that snowy orenge tinge to it
now that straw clutching lol
C.S
I can beat that, it smells like snow out there...
Although you could say thats the left over snow from the weekend. :winky:

He's only going so we don't ask him when he's shaving his eyebrows........I want to see it lol
Don't worry, I have to go to Runcorn in a couple of weeks, if he doesn't I'll track him down and do it for him haha.

Got this from yorks thread
Theres straw clutching and then theres that. But Im more than willing to clutch it  *Fingers Crossed*
-
LOL your moods are up and down like a prostitute's knickers
I bet he's back before the end of the night too.

granada / itv going for sleet tonight right to the coast, no changes in their forecasts...snow for the pennines
If this is going to happen its got to start shifting west pretty soon. To my eyes all precip seems to be heading south to our east.
-
Unfortunately Martin M is registering snow.
My eyebrows stay.
Im not registering proper snow YET mate, just the startings of. Its not snow for me until its 100% snow with no rain in it falling from the sky
-
Paul Hudson has apparently said the precipitation will be curving back round and coming back more E-W across Yorkshire
If it does do this then we may get lucky. As its very close now to turning to proper snow. If it doesn't I can't help but feel it will dry up as the uppers finally get cold enough.
For the snow starved heres a good webcam from over the Pennines http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/IceStationCameras/033B92B9_FFED885A_cam2.jpg

I think Backtracks eyebrows will be saved soon, a 50:50 mix of snow flakes and freezing rain here now.
-
I said anywhere in the South of the region, so you can save me lol.
No idea where that is!
I could be very close to saving them then. Still sleet but with quite large flakes now mixed in. Anytime now I feel if its going to do anything tonight.
-
maybe he referred to the high ground south of M56 near the power station.
Even so, theyre not that steep sided. That terrain matches Snowdonia and the snow cover the same as his trip there a couple of weeks ago lol.
Anyway is my location eligible to save Backtracks eyebrows? Or does it have to be really low lying snow?

Any ideas if Macclesfield will see any Snow later as we seem to well out of it?
Id rate our chances at the moment as, slim if Im honest.
Seems its alot further east than anyone thought it was going to be.
-
Can't be far off snow now where you are? If we do see any you'll get it before me
Yeah thats what i'm thinking. That tweet Snow Guy put up before shows snow just to our north east so its just got to come a little further west now I think. Doesnt look like we'll get that much, if anything, here now though. Just seems like sleet now for the last couple of hours. Ground is quite icy.
-
Got loads of iceicle's beginning to form outside now. Just been told a trucks struggling to get up a big hill running through the center of town. Might be due to ice, either that the driver just can't drive
-
Cold drizzle in Macclesfield, wouldn't be surprised if it snowed in the next few hours
It is progressively getting more sleety I'd say. I'd give it an hour or so before we start getting some light snow. Certainly feels colder than a couple of hours ago.
-
LOL, it's always interesting seeing people slipping on what looks like rain.......until now I've managed to keep myself upright (despite some near slip experiences) Though I've seen plenty of other people come a cropper
Haha yeah, Im glad im off on holiday today so have no need to venture outside. Back in work tomorrow so will probably have to fight my way through the traffic that always seems to grind Macclesfield to a halt when it snows.
-
Light rain here now, but its freezing I'd say. Seeing as I've just watched a delivery man across the road almost break his neck trying to walk down a 'wet' looking driveway.
-
Really is a different world up there (despite not being too far away from here)......I noticed that even Sandbach (just a few miles away) had areas of left over snow when we drove through last night.
Yeah you can say that. Macc itself has its own favoured spots I've found recently. I live in the south west part of the town with only a few houses left before the fields start but were also on a hill thats around 40m higher than the most of the town before you get to the eastern side thats on the hills. Back in December I had snow at home but when driving through the town center there was very little. Then theres been times where my part of town will get 5cm, yet the other will get over 10cm. Really weird really but goes to show how a little more height can make the world of difference sometimes.
-
Rain here aswell but 850hpa heights are just too warm for a 'freezing rain' event, luckily or unluckily. It will be later on this afternoon around 3/5pm ish that for us in the south this light drizzle will start to turn back into snow..and the good news is another 10-25cm ontop of whatever snowcover is left over (or even if snow-forecast/GFS is predicting) those in lower levels aswell who didn't see anything last time.
How much snow have you got left from the weekend? Were just down to grass being covered and the pavements having ice on them.
-
And thats just the reported ones. No doubt there will be loads that have happened on side roads that the police haven't had to deal with.
-
I walked the dog its really puddles, there is ice crystals formed on sheds, but everything else is rather wet.
Ah. Still ground temp will no doubt be still below 0 so it might freeze soon so it would be best to be ready to slip. Freezing rain isnt always as instant as it sounds.
Still bone dry here.
-
Met office are slightly random, Forcast heavy snow 12.00 onward for haydock, its currently a puddle fest outside.
Saintpeter said the same, then realised it was ice. I'd go and find out before you realise the hard way
-
Ok here we go, latest NMM
I really do hope thats wrong, freezing rain hitting Manchester and Liverpool and other major towns in the northwest at the peak of rush hour will not be pretty.
-
-4c here this morning. Glad im on holiday as the car is a block of ice after last nights frost. Even colder tonight by looks of things.

Really? Stopped altogether here over an hour ago. Would of thought Cheshire would be drying up (or freezing up) by now.
