  1. Simply stunning charts laid out before us tonight - surely tomorrow we are going to get some!:yahoo::bomb: :bomb: :bomb::yahoo: I can't take much more of this anticipation, it's making me go bonkers!:crazy:

    My camera and camcorder are fully charged, it's just a case of getting work over as quick as possible! :lazy:

    Good luck to all for the next couple of days, and for those chasing, I may well bump into you at some point tomorrow evening along the South Coast :good:

  2. This really was the trip of a lifetime for me - what a great bunch of people I had in Tour 4 to chase with! :hi:

    Many thanks to Paul S for his wealth of weather knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for storms, it really is impossible to resist;

    to Paul M (and Paul S) for driving obscene amounts of miles, on dead straight roads for hours on end to get us into a good position for the next hit;

    to Arron for his excellent operation of the GPS and his fantastic trance mixes;

    to Jim for his crazy jokes, balls of steel and shouting "ave it!" on booting the football high in the air;

    to Dave for his innate ability to capture lightning on camera and sharing his photography tips;

    to Simon for his shared love of Mojitos and braving the strange world of strawberry crumble dessert pizza;

    to Ashley for being a true lad of the land of tractors and combine harvesters and sharing my taste in HD camcorders;

    to Michael for being a cool dude and not passing on his cold lol;

    and to Mr Michael Fish for his dry humour and weather expertise (and also not passing on his cold)

    I loved every minute of it and hope to be back next year! :drinks:

  3. Certainly looks like being a very hot week for a large swathe of the US next week. To my untrained eye i'd say Thursday & Friday isn't looking top bad and has some potential from the latest outputs? Then again i could be wrong laugh.gif

    Only got two days left now! yahoo.gifFor those jetting out on Wednesday, my flight is at 11.25am from T5 if anybody fancied meeting up before jetting off? Message me if your interested biggrin.gif

    I'm on the 3:15pm flight from T3 so I'll see you in Texas! :drinks:

  4. Too damn excited now, time is dragging on as the day of departure gets closer....:whistling: Might settle down this evening and watch 'Twister' :D

    I've been reading up on how to take lightning photos, so I hope I get some good opportunities and get shots as good as the ones I've seen from you guys so far! :good:

    All I've got to do now is pack! (that'll probably be tomorrow night - haha) :rolleyes:

  5. I took about $600 on a caxton last yer which was plenty. didn't take any cash as you can withdraw this off of the card at

    either heathrow or texas. I much prefer this n feel safer not carrying cash. you can also top the card up at anytime on the internet if you find yourself running short of cash which was so handy in florida.

    hope that helps

    Thanks Jo, I'll check the Caxton website out. On current exchange rates that's less than £400 :good:

  6. spend the last 2hrs looking around at flights..

    Prices from 425.00-514.00...with stops :smiliz34:

    not sure if I should wait or book today

    do I gamble and wait for lower prices...or end up paying a huge amount :smiliz23:

    last year I waited and got it very cheap..BUT it doesnt mean I will be lucky this time

    I'm not sure whether to gamble or book now either :unknw: I've got no marker though - what prices did you guys pay for flights last year?

    Also, is it best to arrive on the designated travel day, or come out a day early and stay in a hotel?

  7. You made a decision on this yet then :drinks::drinks: You are probably well tanked up by now anyway what with yer Xmas Do today

    Btw: Is there a dress code in that amber bar, eg can I wear Trainers or does it have to be shoes - Mybe Stu or Dave knows ??

    Hi Paul,

    I would have been there tonight if I didn't have a nasty cold & cough, although I don't think all that drink at my Xmas do helped yesterday though lol. Have one for me and have a good evening with the London & South East crew!

    PS Very excited to have Michael Fish on Tour 4!

  8. The Xmas gathering is but a week away, just want to see if I have the number correct

    Paul S

    Stu

    Ian Cameron

    Dave Vicary

    Jo

    Any others turning up like Nick F or any of the other South Easterners.

    I am pretty sure Ian and Stu might meet me at my shop and head over for about 6-630pm to the bar

    My Xmas work do is on the 15th, so I may need a top-up with you guys haha....

  9. Yes, certainly looks interesting tonight for southern districts, with some heavy rain moving out of N.France now, looking to hit Central Southern Counties in a few hours time, with the possibility of some embedded thunder and heavy rain breaking out further east as the night wears on.

    Regards,

    Tom

    Yes Tom, that rain looks good for a hit on the Home Counties, guess I'll just sit here and wait.... :)

    Scary? Maybe a little lol....

    The road rage outbursts were funny, as was the "Socks on Fire" version of Kings of Leon!

    Also not forgetting references to the "squiffy" clouds! You crack me up!:acute:

  11. Managed to get home in under 3 hours, after a stunning drive through the Cotswolds!

    Thanks to Ian and his family for an awesome BBQ - had a wicked time! Thanks too to Jo for the lift, and thanks to Paul for letting me use the communal part of your mansion tent :)

    Was great to see everyone, and I look forward to the next one :nea: or Cardiff in March :p

    Yes Harry, that drive was superb - beautiul scenery!

    From the moment I met you and Jo in picking me up in Upminster, I felt welcome. I had such a great time yesterday meeting all of you guys. Your enthusiasm for all things weather was infectious - I love it! As for all of the storm photos and footage - gorgeous.

    Ian - your hospitality was first class and cannot be praised enough. Thank you for all the delicious food (and the bacon rolls this morning of course).

    Jo - just adding my thanks too for the lift. "Storm" did a great job :D
