Dry, sunny (some scattered high level clouds), very warm. 23C
BBC seemed to have got it right (eventually) after them saying only 18C yesterday at 6:30pm!
Should reach 25C easily if it stays sunny, then BOOOM lightning .

-
I slept through it, but I was told by my brother that there was thunder and lightning here at 6am.
-
Thunder and lightning here! heavy rain!
-
Got distant thunder here. It's going dark too

I think its to do with the energy in the atmosphere in terms of ions or something... So red=higher chance of aurora. Blue=slight chance.
-
This image looks really interestin! The red is very close to the UK!
-
So all that warning is directly at the UK for tonight! Oh WOW! might be the best chance ive ever had. Its clear here atm!
-
It does look promising, but has this come at a bad time for the UK? late morning isnt exactly the best, and the weather isnt for great viewing. It's supposed to clear later, so I'm going to remain optimistic!

Distant lightning and loud low rumbling thunder!

According to spaceweather, there are chances of M or X class flares from 775 and/or 776 as well! Keep watching!

The reds in the statistical aroura oval picture seems to have moved a little further south....
-
Looks like I'm off to the viaduct tonight to see it!
-
its shot up, but then gone down, seems to be a little sporadic!
-
I hope this isnt going to happen too early, the black line has dipped sharply and the bars are now orange. Please let it start later on! i want to see the aurorae, never seen one!

Hey John, this is extremely useful. It is a difficult diagram to understand, but with this, i can understand it!
Just one question
On the diagram with the ELR on it, between 1000mb and 960mb or so, does the ELR follow the temperature lines (at 45 degrees) if this is so, then does the ELR stay at about 18C for the first 800mb, or is it actually warming up (as if you are reading the temperature vertically)?
Hope that made sense.
