The CET compared to here just shows how much the lucky SE and East Midlands have taken away the summer from my area and further north/west. My average is running at 15.3C.
-
We might need rain, but not every bloody day JUST when July arrives.
-
I thought that storm was Tamworth way.
I have to say that in all the years I have had the Net Weather radar, I have never ever seen a cell a shower as heavy as this...
90-120mm an hour
I've got a screen capture of a cell reaching over 250mm/hr near Buxton from 14th July last week...
-
No. If you've had at least half an hour of intense rain, hail, frequent lightning and strong winds then you can say you've had a storm. We had all that here last week, so I'm out the club, but still haven't bothered to change my sig yet (because it's funny, unless you don't have a sense of humor).
-
Can't be bothered to look at the bloody radar any more, seems there are storms going up west, south and east of here, but Buxton and the Peak District is once again a graveyard for all wannabe convection, with a miserable pile of Novembery drizzle and wintery 12C temperatures.
-
Well this is a load of rubbish, BBC/metoffice making no mention of storms today and just "the odd shower", meanwhile tomorrow's CAPE has been reduced to very little here and many other places with a lifted index at a convection inhibiting 0 - 1. What bull! I hate living here too.
-
Another fail today, metoffice says no thundery showers tomorrow (they say just scattered showers) so this week's going to hell already, starting with today's fail.
-
I see that the metoffice forecast for tomorrow has been downgraded to The day will then be a mix of sunny spells and a few scattered showers. from the previous "thundery showers with hail"
:Ballwash: Uh I mean
-
No mention of thundery showers or thunder or even heavy showers anywhere tomorrow or thursday on the latest BBC forecast.
-
Not expecting storms here today (or most places), with no instability, no storms.
-
In the last hour a very heavy torrential storm with a fair amount of lightning/thunder and strong winds, small hail.
-
Still nothing here this year, and today's lot all managed to go either side of me. What a crap year indeed. Worst in my life's memory. How sad.
Wow! Now I am officially out of the club, there was an intense storm with relatively frequent thunder/lightning and small hail in the last hour! The best storm I've seen since 2007.

Cool and overcast with light-moderate rain this morning and intermittent light rain and drizzle this afternoon.
Wonderful! ( without the slightest hint of irony )
Max' today, 12.0c
Dreadful day today, max of 12.8C today, very cold and chilly, persistent drizzly rain most of the day.
-
Wet and cold all day.
Low of 13.3C high of 17.0C.
-
Plenty of rain here today, 6mm taking us up to 11mm for the month.

Got to be said that the latest models outputs look distinctly garbage for my area.
-
14.6C and now it is raining.
-
Another warm day
Low last night of 12.3C rising to 24.8C, wind gust 27mph.
-
Nope nothing here either this year, I can't remember what thunder sounds like.
-
Another hot one today, 24C and climbing about 1.5C per hour.
-
26C and climbing here in Buxton, and sure feels like it, phew.
-
Currently 21.4C in Buxton, actually cooler than this time yesterday when it was already 22C. Overnight low was 13.7C, the warmest of the year so far. Yesterday was a good evening, it was still 24C by 18:00 thanks to cloud cover that formed.

I heard on another forum that this was actually a gas leak after some kind of gas explosion?
