  1. There were some hotspots indeed and small steamplumes on several places on the slope.
  2. I had a feeling it was, but with that bad vision....I don't know. But it would explain the dark plume I mentioned yesterday.
  3. They say it's the rain.Assessment - 19 May 2010 17:55According to radar and pilots’ observations, the plume has been slightly lower today than yesterday, at 5-6 km (18,000-20,000 ft). Southerly winds prevailed this morning over the volcano, turning to the southwest at 15-18 m/s. The plume drifted northwest early this morning, but then turned north-northeast, and its colour is gray or light gray. The number of lightning strikes has decreased.Ash has fallen in the south at Flúðir, Fljótshlíð and Rangárþing ytra. Ash has also fallen with rainfall in the north, in Húsavík and Skagafjörðyour, right before noon.Heavy rainfall caused swelling of Eyjafjallajökull rivers today. The rain, together with ash from an area of a few square kilometers, resulted in a mudslide in Svaðbæli river. Hydrologists from IMO, and a scientist from IES, gathered samples from the river and also from Skógar river. The discharge at the old bridge over Markarfljót river has not been greater since 15 April. The discharge at Gígjökull is still low.The plume is up to 5-6 km and drifts to the north-northeast according to reconnaissance flight from the Icelandic Coast Guard this afternoon. The above is based on a status report issued collectively by the Icelandic Meteorological Office and the Institute of Earth Sciences at 17:00.
  4. And if you go to the enlarged map Reykjanes Peninsula you'll even see them.
  5. 10 of them were all in the same place so you see them as one red dot. There are two tabs on the top of the map. One called map and the other table. Go to table and you'll see what I mean.
  6. You remeber the lava hotspot which the heatsensor was extremely fond of? The white spots I mentioned where slightly higher and to the left of that. More like in a straight line above the split rock and with the dark plume above it.IR cam now shows the old three lavaspots again so I guess the new spots were all steamplumes.
  7. Same here in the Lowlands of Holland. Just have a look at the Poro axis cam. Isn't there an awfull lot of ash between the rocks?
  8. There were several bright white spots near the top and a broad dark smokeplume above them on the axis cam. On the left of that was a plume of white steam visible.
  9. Looks like there's something happening on the Poro cam now?
  10. Vodafone cam is back, but the wind seems to have changed. The Mulakot cam looks as if it's covered by ash.
  11. Just drive there. I do and it's "only" 1900 Km's to Vinaros. -lol-
  12. As long as it's not in Cornwall next month cause I'll be there then.
  13. Wow. Those don't look like clouds on the AXIS cam. I'm pretty sure that's one big pile of steam. It's not going any direction. Just hanging around the ashplume.
  14. Sure doesn't look like dust. Small white plumes every now and then. Even one rolling down just a minute ago, so I gues there is a bombardment going on.
  15. Am I imagining this or is it much more black now as well?
  16. Just a few minutes ago I noticed a white plume on the slope just left and one quarter of the total heighth above the most left building. Anyone seen that before?-edit- there are more now, so I guess they're just clouds. Forgot to mention it was on Mulakot.
  17. Just a coincidence. I have a day off today, so it got a bit late. The other coincidence is I own a Nightfire red Rover 800 and this is my nick on several other fora. ;-)Now I hardly dare to ask.....coldfingers?
  18. Hi everyone,Totally new here, but counted 5 lightnings in the last 45 minutes. I'm very lucky I guess.
