    Central Peterborough, snow falling, steady, fairly small flakes - but providing a covering, and for the first time this winter, they are settling on the ground without it melting in any way - temps now 0.7c and falling since the snow started and DP -2.3c up since snow started.

    Snowing again in central Peterborough - only lightly at the moment, but snow from outset, Temp 2.1c (dropping) Dewpoint -1.4c (rising)

    After the initial heavy snow in Peterborough, which gave about 1.5cm accumulation in a short time, as it became lighter, the snow turned to wet snow. then sleet and finally rain, most of the snow has now been washed away. Temps had got down to about 0.4 and dew point to -1.4, but have since risen to 3.4c and DP 1.6c and both still rising.

    Heavy snow - large flakes now falling in central Peterborough, and its settling on all surfaces temps 1.3c and dew point -0.9c, before it started to snow temps were +2.2c and dew point was +0.4

    Raining in central Peterborough, with temps dropping to 4.4c but dew point rising from 0.4c to 0.8c

    Pretty potent wind gusts from cold front - odd gust of 45mph, for a very brief period as it passes through. Strongest wind gust recorded here since Feb last year. Temperature also dropped from 9.7c to 5.9c in a little over 10 mins.

    The next area of precipitation has arrived - and again its light rain (much lower intensity than what it appears on radar), temperature now up to 1.8c DP still -0.3

    Finally something falling from the sky - unfortunately its light rain and temp has increased to 1.6c DP now -0.4c

    Its getting warmer in peterborough up to 1.4c now and dew point also gone up to -0.3c

    In the centre of Peterborough its now 1.2c and rising and dew point -0.5c which is up from0.2c, dew point -1.7c at 17:11

    15.4c here at 18:50 highest since station recordings started in June 2002, beating the previous high of 14.9c although that was 29th Jan 2013

    Impressive pea sized (5-10mm) soft hail here for last 20 mins or so - turned ground white 3C drop in air temp during shower from 8.5 down to 5.5c, and still dropping.

    Snow turned to rain here with justo the odd flake in it, what had started to build upon the car has mostly gone and temp gone up from 0.5c to 1.0c. Dew point up from freezing to 0.6c.

    Snow now starting to show on car, but not on paths / roads as too wet. Temp now 0.7c. Dew point 0.1c. Both falling steadily in the centre of Peterborough.

    Been raining steadily all afternoon temps now dropped from 4.6c during the afternoon to 1.7c now and the rain has started to turn wintry. I would expect it to turn to snow as it increases in intensity.

    What's up with the radar, Europe view is showing a big area over East Anglia which is no there on uk view?

    Snow intensity increasing again in central Peterborough now. I had stopped almost completely apart from the odd flake, but quite a lot of flakes now falling - not big at moment, but accumulating on cars which had been cleared. Looks like there may be more from the South East heading this way.

    My station here in central Peterborough recorded its lowest recording in nearly 10 years, -10.67 @ 6:07 beating the previous low of -7.9 on the 7th Dec 2010.

    Where are the weather radars based which cover the Peterborough area, as there seems to be bands of heavier precipitation showing and also some gaps - which don't seem to move, look more like an artefact of the radar (5 minute update in NW Extra) rather than actual heavier or lighter precipitation. Its almost stopped snowing in central Peterborough now, just the odd flake, although the radar shows a little more to come to our NNW.

    Light snow in central Peterborough now, temperature has been below freezing up to now, and its now 0.1c
