Not exactly true, a lot of people were saying that fun and games would start Saturday night. Anyway we are all in this together, so let's hope that something big and memorable is coming up soon.

The weather doesnt give a hoot what people were saying, it will do what it will do regardless, deeper cold in place now, it should get more and more wintry.

What convective cap? From the front over SE England.

Cumbria sometimes does well with convection snow easterlies like in February 2018 but most models are keeping us dry.

Models were the same in 2018 so hopefully they are wrong now also.

My wife keeps asking me is it going to snow and she is not impressed with my bumbling response about 850 uppers and streamer location, thats my Sunday dinner ruined as a result

Come on guys help me out, will the showers get across the Pennines, what are the main parameters?

    Andy

The hills kill most of the showers from the East for your area, a few may get through.

Popped my head out after dinner, hoping it would have turned... Nope.

The N Sea is where it's at for us, clearly. But no one's telling me this evening hasn't failed to give what the models and even the radar were showing, even if we might now be able to see the reasons why.

I never expected anything of note tonight snow wise, it simply hasnt been cold enough, most models showed that to be the case, later and in the morning may be different.

Does anyone know how you bring up actual scales on the V8 radar? This is the current dew points, but I'm not sure what each colour represents, same with 850's.

    Cheers

    WOW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK

The UK Met Office Weather Observation Website (WOW). WOW allows anyone to submit their own weather data, anywhere in the world.

A good site for current conditions around the region or further afield, including dew points.
