1. My word, there are some massive statements being made in that first link! Snow by the end of September?? Well yes on the Scotish Mountins! And a lot of talk of the jet stream then the gulf stream, confusing. And my last point on the first link..who wrote it? This article is badly worded throughout.
2. I must admit those sea temperatures posted seem very cold to me!! Something wrong I think.
3. I am now really wondering what could be in store for us in the UK this winter. After last winter there seems to be a lot of excitment around the weather forums suggesting we are in for the same again! Can the country cope this time? Well we can only wait and see I suppose, but what I would love to know is whether the current conditions around the world, the long range models and telecommunications are giving the same output as this time last year...?? I think last winters cold was a supprise to us all, and not something modelled this time of year. Weather Station Reviews
4. I cant quote you because YOU didnt say it was going to happen. This was not aimed at you..come on get a grip. Its the DAILY MAIL, they do it every year about a dooms day prediction of bad winter weather. Surely you could tell my comment was about the DAILY MAIL not you...lol. I dont even mention what YOU may think about the subject..drrrr Thank you for posting the links, the Daily Mail is always good for a laugh.
5. YES! It must be true, this will be the coldest winter for centrys coming up!...........The Daily Mail are always so so right!!! lol
6. Dont think your sticking your neck out there mate, that is a good description of a normal winter we get in the UK. You have made a very safe bet there.
7. Hi, I have created two blogs by accident. Want to delete one, but cant see how to do it! Please help. Thanks in advance. Matt.
8. Lovely day here in Yatton. Great to finish work nice and early so I can get out in the garden again. Need to adjust my weather station's temperature sensor and replace the batteries ready for the autum and winter onslaught! Weather Station Reviews
9. I think the only way this can be resolved is by monitoring sea temperatures. How much a drop in temperature is required to really effect our winter? Currently sea temperatures are normal, these figures need to be watched between now and Christmas to get any idea of how the gulf stream is behaving.
10. Ive heard this before and again its popped up in the news and media. This time it is being linked to the oil spill in the Gulf. Well what can I say but, what a load of rubbish. I have been tralling the internet to find some information regarding this and from what I have found It has not stopped. People are talking about western Europe heading for an early ice age! I love the cold and snow, but no ice age please! Weather Station Reviews
11. After a little internet research this story first appeard back in 2008, this is nothing new. The added oil spill wont make any differrence in my opinion.
12. I must I am enjoying this thread. Does anyone have any links to to main players in this discussion. I mean any well respected links to any sceintists research conducted in the last couple of months? Thanks.
13. "This was a once in a century type of event" Rubbish..There has been more severe winter weather over the last 100 years than the winter of 09/10.
14. Seems like we have some late summer weather in eary September. Ideal for getting all those jobs done outside reading for the onslaught of rain and high winds! The only thing that anoys me about the this time of year is the amount of leaves I have keep constantly clearing up from around my property! Anyway lovely day here just south of Bristol looking forward to a fine and warmish weekend. There seems to be a lot talk around on the net regarding this up and coming winter. The views I have seen seem to suggest either a very cold winter for us or the complete opposite with very mild conditions throughout. Im not so sure...but bring on the frosts and the white stuff I say! Weather Station Reviews
15. Its the first day of September and a good day to start my weather blog leading up to and through the winter which Im really looking forward too. Anything like last years cold around Christmas and early January would be fantastic (not good for heat bills though). I had a good dumping of snow in early Jan and to see that again would make my winter once more. But I dont just love the cold, another hot weekend in early September would also bring a smile to my face!
16. Cold weather lovers paradise that blog! Anyone taking that for gospel is probably buying plenty of tinned food already! http://weather-station-reviews.com
17. Yes! Just hoping this winter we a country wide weather event for everyone to get involved with! Hopefully a beast from the East.......please. A whole country event will stop the moaning on here at least! Mark my words!!!!
18. Hi guys and girls, I love this time of year (sometimes) when the warm fans are getting desperate for hot weather and are arguing over the model output trying to find that heat wave! The reason why I say this is because they do the opposite to us cold lovers towards the end of Feb! Bring on the first frost, this summer is wimpering out as usual!
19. Hi everyone, newbie here. I have joined this website on the back of last winters fun and games! Many of friends use this forum and now Im a member! Bring on winter I say! The reason why I have joined is due to the poor weather forecasting on TV, hopefully some of you guys are better than the BBC, and I have heard you are! So Im looking forward to next 6 or 7 months!
